JOB DESCRIPTION: Tennis Development Manager
Job Purpose:
To manage tennis facilities at Alive Lynnsport and coordinate and develop tennis programmes to maximise usage, accessibility and income.
Main Duties:
- To create and deliver a programme sales strategy to maximise court usage, tennis participation and income opportunities.
- To plan and oversee a comprehensive structured tennis programme including schools, disability, juniors and adults, aiming to introduce new participants into the sport and retain existing players.
- To recruit, manage and motivate the Tennis Coaching Team, including volunteers, to deliver the tennis programme ensuring high standards of performance, good teamwork, communication and staff care. Ensure that appropriate coaching ratios are maintained for all planned activities and health & safety legislation and safeguarding policies are adhered to at all times.
- To develop a programme of outreach tennis sessions across theWest Norfolkcommunity, aimed at increasing participation in tennis.
- To work with the North Lynn Discovery Centre to maximise partnership opportunities for delivery at Alive Lynnsport, Discovery Centre, Clubs and in rural areas.
- To work with the College of West Anglia to support their enhanced LTA/Tennis Foundation Further Education offer. This will include programming college usage of the tennis courts, competition, both recreational and formal, and coaching programmes.
- To work withschools in West Norfolk, including the West Norfolk School Sport Partnership,on the development of a schools programme of tennis ranging from teacher education to lesson support, after school clubs and competitions.
- To provide appropriate pathways for talented players.
- Working with the Alive Sports Development Team, BCKLWN, LTA and any other appropriate partners to produce and deliver a strategic Alive Lynnsport Tennis Development Plan.
- Be responsible for the on-going development ofAlive Lynnsport’s tennis coaches (paid and voluntary). Establish a mentoring system to raise the quality of coaching across the whole programme. Organise ‘in house’ training and regular development meetings.
- Create links and work in partnership with local clubs to break down barriers to tennis participation.
- To obtain and maintain the Tennismark(or equivalent) accreditation.
- Liaise with the Sports Developmentteam and LTA about changes to the programme. Work with the Sports Development teamand LTA to establish and maintain budgets for individual elements of the programme.
- Produce reports regarding the on-going development ofAlive Lynnsport Tennis Courts including usage and financial figures..
- Establish and develop a user group profile for Alive Lynnsport Tennis Courts.
- Liaise with Alive Leisure Management as necessary to ensure efficient procedures and systems are in place for access to and security and maintenance of the courts; court presentation and reputation should be maintained to the highest standards.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required by Alive Leisure.

Desirable Criteria
-a recognised qualification in Sales and Marketing, Leisure Management, Sports Development or related subject;
- experience in sales;
- experienceof a leisure/sports environment
- enthusiasm for tennis/sport
- working to targets and achieving targets
Skills
