1. JOB TITLE: Corporate Partnerships Co-ordinator

REPORTS TO: Corporate Relationship Manager

PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISION: N/A

RESPONSIBLE FOR: volunteers on ad hoc basis

LIAIASES WITH: Events and Corporate Teams; All fundraising staff across the organisation; Media and communications staff, Programme staff; Business Development staff; Finance staff; External Stakeholders, donors and supporters

2. JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Partnerships Manager to deliver and develop Maggie’s Corporate Fundraising activity, including:seeking, generating and securing new business;promoting Maggie’s Events to corporates; securing participants for all Maggie’s Events from corporate stakeholders and for managing and developing small to medium sized corporate partnerships. The post holder will be generating unrestricted income in order to support people living with, through and beyond cancer by funding the existing network of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres.

The post holder will work with internal and external stakeholders, will work both on independent projects and as part of the Corporate Team. The post holder must demonstrate an ability to deliver exemplary donor care and effective stewardship of donors and partnerships that they are responsible for. The post holder will be responsible for proactively following up new business leads that are generated by the organisation or within the Corporate Team as well as taking action to seek new business leads in line with Maggie’s Corporate Fundraising Strategy, all in order that the post holder can meet all targets set out in their work plan in order to deliver short and long term organisational growth. The post holder will be responsible for developing innovative and creative approaches to potential new partners as well as injecting that same ingenuity to their delivery of existing partnerships.

The post holder will have experience of managing small accounts, developing and stewarding relationships, developing and securing new business, promoting events and securing event participation. The post holder will have experience of working to income and expenditure targets, and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the organisation to deliver corporate fundraising income and maximising return on investment. The post holder must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the need to ensure partnerships are structured, comply with all charity laws and entered into with an understanding of the value of Maggie’s reputation and their own time and resource allocation. In addition they will be responsible for managing the team’s administration processes to ensure accurate and comprehensive data capture, banking, thanking and all administration in relation to Corporate Fundraising at Maggie’s.

As part of the Corporate Team the post holder will be responsible for managing corporate fundraising on a local level across the UK, , providing ideas, support and guidance to community fundraising colleagues when required and ensuring all UK wide partnerships are maximised locally. .

4. KEY RESULT AREAS

KRA 1. Primary job requirements:

1.  Supporting the Corporate Partnerships Manager and other colleagues within the Corporate Team to deliver and develop Maggie’s Corporate Fundraising Strategy.

2.  Seeking, generating and securing new business.

3.  Managing Maggie’s portfolio of community corporate activity, working closely with the community fundraisers.Managing small to medium-sized corporate partnerships, in line with Maggie’s Corporate Fundraising Strategy.

4.  Meeting an income target, to be agreed with the Corporate Partnerships Manager on an annual basis.

KRA2: Communications and Cross-Organisational working

5.  Responsibility for production of proposals and other communications as necessary to perform primary duties in accordance with Maggie’s brand and in collaboration with Maggie’s brand and publications group.

6.  To brief internal stakeholders or key volunteers in relation to corporate partnerships managed by the post holder.

7.  Responsible for ensuring the implementation of Maggie’s donor care policy in relation to corporate partnerships managed by the post holder and to contributing to the development of the Maggie’s supporter journey for Corporate Supporters.

8.  Managing corporate partners and securing new business to support wider organisational and fundraising needs – including sponsorship, GIK, volunteering opportunities and event participants.

KRA 2. Finance, Planning and Administration:

9.  Responsibility for monitoring and reporting back against targets in respect of accounts managed by post-holder, including producing monthly summaries, variance explanations and assisting the Corporate Partnerships Manager with reforecasts.

10.  Responsibility for supporting Corporate Fundraising Teamwith the maintenance of data and records, and all administrative systems and processes relevant to Corporate fundraising at Maggie’s.

11.  To ensure that effective management and effective utilisation of Maggie’s database and other IT systems relevant to undertaking duties.

KRA 4. Research and Development Activity

12.  To be responsible for the ongoing programme of research and development that will identify new corporate partners and new corporate-led fundraising opportunities and products, as directed by the Corporate Fundraising Team.

13.  Undertake any other duties as directed by your line manager and consistent with the aims and purposes of MKJCCCT.

14.  The post holder will be required to work some evenings and unsociable hours and some travel will be required across the UK.

15.  Conditions of employment are in accordance with contract of employment, Maggie’s policies and procedures and other conditions as described in Maggie’s Staff Handbook.

Training and qualifications / A minimum of two years fundraising experience (or a similar environment) developing relationships with corporate organisations or equivalent. / Educated to degree level. / CV, references and certificates
Experience / Experience of managing small accounts or substantial aspects of large accounts, in order to ensure such accounts meet contractual obligations and income targets, within a fixed budget.
