We are currently looking to fill the role of Human Resources Manager to run our Human Resources Department based at Kane Group Headquarters, Banbridge, but will be required to travel to other company locations across the UK when necessary. This post is a permanent full time post and is subject to a 6 months probationary review.

Job Summary:
This is a fantastic opportunity for any HR Manager, or for any current HR Generalist wanting to take the next step into a management role. The post-holder will manage and deliver a range of Human Resources services across Kane Group Building Services for approximately 185 employees, with bases in NI, Scotland and London. The role will involve daily management of a small HR team and working alongside senior management to help develop a highly professional Human Resources function. This is a hands-on role that will require effective management of employee relations, resourcing & development, absence management, recruitment & selection, along with the actual delivery of such activities, and that of others as and when they arise. They will have knowledge of HR databases in particular CASCADE and ensure that the CASCADE HR database is up to date, accurate and complies with relevant legislation.Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Manage employee administration, management and maintenance of up to date and accurate employee records on CASCADE and in manual files in order to be able to produce timely and accurate management reports and information.
2. Advise and support managers in the review and forward planning of current and future staffing requirements within the group in accordance with policy and employment legislation.
3. Support recruitment campaigns across the company including compiling and certifying job descriptions, job advertisements, preparing short listing and conducting interviews, issuing offer letters, contracts of employment etc.
4. Provide advice and support to management and health & safety team regarding the identification of training and development needs for staff.
5. Analyse and interpret policies and procedures in order to influence the actions of line managers and team leaders across the group. Assisting them with meeting legal, procedural and workforce development requirements.
6. Dealing with general HR queries from employees efficiently and effectively.
7. Provide effective and appropriate advice and support to managers across the organisation in relation to all HR policies and procedures and legislative requirement including investigations, disciplinary, grievances and performance management.
8. Coordinate and administer the employee appraisal system for the company.
9. Manage Fair Employment monitoring forms and assist with compiling Fair Employment Returns and any other monitoring returns as required for Kane Group & Alternative Heat.
10. Collate data/information and producing statistical and other reports for internal use, required by the Company Accountant, Payroll department, IT department, H&S Department and others from time to time.
11. Maintain and protect confidentiality of information at all times, including all information held on personnel files and on CASCADE.
12. Ensure legislative compliance at all times, including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, and statutory reporting.

Person Specification
Factor / Essential / DesirableQualifications / Graduate Membership of the CIPD – or expertise & experience of a high level
Degree in a business related area or equivalent work experience
Full current driving licence and access to a car /or access to a form of transport to enable duties of the post to be carried out in full. / Degree in Human Resources or postgraduate in personnel management.
NVQs/SVQs Level 3 Personnel Support
Training / Willingness to undertake training and development, when necessary / Training & Development Certificate / Diploma
Experience / Minimum of 2 years’ relevant generalist Human Resources experience in the following areas:
- Recruitment & selection
- Absence Management
- Discipline & Grievance
- Use of computerised HR management system
Proficiency in MS Office package, including databases. / Previous experience of working in the construction sector
Experience of HR Management and managing a team.
Special Knowledge and Skills / IT literate and proficient in the use of MS office and computerised personnel management systems eg CASCADE
A strong working knowledge of employment legislation and best practice. / Use of report writing.
