The 2013Bojangles’ Southern 500 is only weeks away and the entire staff at Darlington Raceway is looking forward to welcoming fans, competitors and media to the track Too Tough To Tame. Below is some information that will assist you with your coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup SeriesBojangles’ Southern 500 and NASCAR Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200.
Jim Hunter Media Center
Seating in the deadline room of the James H. Hunter media center has been assigned. Seating charts will be posted around the room and at the media center desk. Workstations for team PR reps and media outlets that do not have an assigned seat in thedeadline room are available in the office unit located in the reserved parking lot behind the media center. The office units located directly behind the media center have been reserved for photographers. Workspace in the office units is available on a first-come first-served basis.
Press Box
The press box at Darlington Raceway is located in the suite tower outside of turn three. Seating in the press box in assigned. The press box will be open on Friday and Saturday of race weekend.
Credentials
To request credentials you must fill out the form provided or submit a request to Dennis Worden on official company letterhead no later than three weeks prior to the Bojangles’ Southern 500. All requests will be reviewed, but not all will be accepted based on the nature or timeliness of coverage.
If granted,the credential office is located across from the track’s administration office on Highway 151. If you need to pick-up credentials onsite, please do so during the following times.

Thursday, May 9 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Friday, May 10 6:00 am – 8:00 pm

Photo Vests
There will be two photo meetings held on race weekend. Photographers must attend at least one of these meetings to obtain a photo vest. Vouchers for photo vests will be distributed at the meetings and can be turned in at the media center desk for a photo vest. The meetings will be held in the office units behind the media center on Friday at 8:00 AM and on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Photographers must obtain a photo vest prior to shooting at Darlington Raceway. All vests must be returned following the Bojangles’ Southern 500.
Hours of Operation and Media Meals
Following are the hours of operation for the James H. Hunter Media Center and Press Box at Darlington Raceway as well as the meal schedule. Please note that full meals will not be served in the Press Box.
