Jerry S. Cohen Memorial Endowed Loan Repayment Fund

To apply for the Jerry Cohen Memorial Endowed Loan Repayment Fund, you must complete and submit the attached application along with supporting documentation to Michelle Taylor, Assistant Director of Scholarships (471 W. Required Supporting documents

A. Personal statement (500 word maximum)

B. A copy of your most recent academic transcript from WSU.

C. Recent resume

**NOTE: Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Submit all materials as one package. Transcripts, resumes and letters must be attached to the completed application form. They will not be accepted separately. Submit only the information requested. Additional materials will not be considered.

Criteria for Scholarships

Scholarship criteria include:

  1. Graduation fromthe JD program at Wayne Law School
  2. Employment in the field of public interest
  3. Demonstrate financial need by way of outstanding law school student loan debt

4. A completedscholarship application

5. Consent to have credentials discussed with the donor of the scholarship

6. Any other criteria as set forth by donor

The Selection Process

These are competitive scholarships. Recipients are selected by the Law School

Scholarship Committee. The committee ranks the applicants on the basis of the stated

criteria. Applicants ranked highest are awarded scholarships. Availability of funds limit the

number of scholarships awarded.

  • And, if selected, having your name publicized as the recipient of the scholarship.

Scholarship recipients shall commit to donor acknowledgment activities as determined by the dean or her designee, such as preparing written acknowledgements to donors, participation in honors convocation and other donor-recognition events.
