- All parade entries must complete an application in order to participate. Initial this page, fill out the next page and turn in both pages. It is advisable to keep a copy with you.
- The parade lineup starts at 4:00 p.m. at the corner of S. Main St. & S. Market St. You must be in line for the parade by 5:00 p.m. The easiest route is to enter the lineup from South Cutting. There is no specific lineup order. Volunteers will direct the line-up.
- The only items to be thrown from the parade entries are: beads, cups, doubloons, candy, small soft toys & tee shirts. Please do not throw anything that will injure anyone.
- No glass containers, water guns, weapons, fireworks, silly string or SHOW ME signs… No exhibition of private body parts.
- No hanging off the sides of the floats or sitting on top of the rails for safety reasons. Offenders will cause your float to be removed from the parade lineup.
- Once the parade has started it will not stop, except in case of an emergency. No one is allowed to get on or off an entry once the parade is moving.
- Keep a distance of at least 3 car lengths between entries. ?? this seems like large gap
- Proof of vehicle liability insurance MUST accompany your parade application if parading a motorized vehicle. Proof of Insurance on each vehicle used in the parade is required.
- Horse units will be placed at the end of the parade only. ?? At the other parades I’ve seen, this wasn’t the case. In fact, they were near the beginning. Horseback riders must also be registered. At no time can your animal be left unattended. All horses must wear a “manure catcher bag”. Horses are to be delivered to the parade drop off point in trailer. Horses are not to be ridden around town before or after the parade.
- Offensive behavior including nudity, abusive or offensive language, and drunkenness, WILL NOT be tolerated.
- If a port-a-potty is part of your float, it must not leak and the holding tank must be large enough to accommodate your floats’ participants. DO NOT drain your tank during the line up or while parade is in route.
- All floats must carry a fire extinguisher and there are no open flames allowed on floats.
- Make sure all floats have functioning tail lights.
