Outline: “Jen”
Jen was a horribly disfigured child and the illegitimate daughter of a drug whore. Sold to the circus, mocked by the world on U-Tube, Jen escaped to the city and survived by hiding in her apartment and living off whatever meager income she could make through the UltraWeb. Rather than seek vengeance she chose to better herself and vowed to make the cold, cruel world a better place. Reading everything possible she acquired a taste for technology, developing a special knack for all things mechanical.
Meanwhile nearby, an alien orb of unknown origin had been patiently watching her for years, waiting for the perfect time to initiate its dark and sinister plan. A plan to usher in an apocalypse that would generate enough negative psychic energy for the orb to travel to the next world, eventually spreading its vengeful chaos until the entire universe was consumed. For the orb to possess Jen outright was impossible; the years of abuse had strengthened her will considerably. It could though imbue Jen with inhuman strength, intoxicating beauty or a host of other “gifts”. But on this world, in this situation, all that was needed was… the power of persuasion. Without a further thought an invisible bolt of energy crackled through hyperspace out of the orb and into the misshapen skull of poor Jen.
All Jen felt was a momentary inexplicable sense of joy that eventually settled into a heightened, yet barely perceptible sense of courage. Over the next few years she amazed herself by establishing online friendships with heads of state, ambassadors, physicists, billionaires, activists and celebrities. Through her connections she eventually unveiled a genius global program to save the world using a combination of oceanic thermal technologies proven in decades past. Proven, but due to pressure by oil conglomerates, never saw the light of day. It involved vast floating cities that replicated themselves, causingthe vast deserted areas of ocean to team with life, generating such abundant surplus energy, pure water and food that world starvation and fossil fuel dependency would become a thing of the past.
Jen easily convinced world leaders to collaborate and begin construction and it was only a matter of a few years before Jen’s islands of hope came online and flooded the world energy grid with nearly free energy and bountiful aquaculture. National economies were stimulated and the poorest of people had renewed hope!Everyone was eager to see who this mystery woman was. Many suggested she should even run for world president!
She did indeed reveal herself, and the world hung its head in shame. The circus freak they had mocked had become their savior!
At about the same time on the opposite side of the world, the orb had just given a gentle nudge to the head chancellor of the waning oil conglomerates to dust off an old briefcase, open it, perform a retinal scan and push a button. Nearby, ancient nuclear missile silos slowly creaked opened…
