Booster Club Skating Party will be held on Sunday, February 14th from 5:00 -7:00 P.M. at the SK8-Away Skate Center, 815 SW Fairlawn in Topeka.

Yearbook orders must be back by February 26, 2010. The cost of the yearbook is $12.50 and must be prepaid. Make checks payable to J.W.I.S. We will not be ordering extra yearbooks.

We will have an AR Reading Night on March 2 (Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America week) from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Intermediate School. This is for students kindergarten through 5th grade.

Box Tops* Goal for this school year is $1542. We need $400 to meet our goal. Please drop off your Box Tops by February 19th. Currently, 54 people have signed up at www.btfe.com to support our school. Please sign up to receive great shopping deals and coupons that will benefit our school!

The Jefferson County Health Department will be providing 2nd doses of H1N1 vaccine to Jefferson West Elementary and Intermediate School students (who received their first dose of H1N1 vaccine January 12, 2010 or earlier), on February 22, 2010 from 8:00 – 10:00 A.M. and at the I.S. starting at 11:00 A.M. It is recommended for full protection, that children ages 9 years and below receive two doses of H1N1 at least 28 days apart. If you would like your child to receive their 2nd dose at the school, please complete the H1N1 consent form (from your child’s school), indicate the date of dose #1 and return it to the school no later than February 17, 2010. If you have questions or concerns you may contact the Jefferson County Health Department at 785-863-2447.
