Jefferson College of Health Sciences Celebrates Spring Commencement Ceremony

in Elmwood Park’s New Amphitheater

ROANOKE, Va. (April 28, 2014) — Jefferson College of Health Sciences celebrates its Spring 2014 Commencement Ceremony for the first time in Elmwood Park’s new Amphitheater on Friday, May 9, 2014, beginning at 10 a.m. A total of 142 Jefferson students on the master’s, bachelor’s and associate degree levels will accept their diplomas and become alumni of the College during the event. These students will graduate from 12 different academic programs at the College.

Jefferson College is proudly hosting this event at Elmwood Park, just across Elm Street from its campus at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital. For more than 100 years, Elmwood Park has evolved from the distinguished home and gardens of P.L. Terry, one of Roanoke's founding citizens, to downtown’s premier greenspace. After an extensive renovation process, Jefferson College is partnering with the City of Roanoke to utilize this beautiful new amphitheater space for our first outdoor graduation event.
