Welcome to the After School Enrichment program Sponsored by the Jane Ryan PTA
Information & Policies
  • Checks should be made payable to Jane Ryan PTA, no cash please.
  • There will be a fee on all returned checks.
  • Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. Classes that fail to meet minimum student requirements may be cancelled and a refund will be issued.
  • Registration form and waiver must be received by Friday, October 13, 2017.
  • NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.
  • Please complete all parts and return it with payment, as soon as possible, in an envelope marked ASE.
  • INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS on your registration form. This will be used for confirmation of your child’s enrollment in class.
  • There will be no refunds for missed classes or if you withdraw your child from class.
  • Children who are picked up late twice will be dismissed from the program with no refund.
  • Inappropriate or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Parents will be notified and students may be asked to leave the program without refund. We want After School Enrichment to be a fun experience for all students.
Weather Conditions
If school is closed early due to inclement weather, all ASE programs for that day will be cancelled. Children should go home as they normally do.
Teacher Conditions
If a class is cancelled suddenly because the teacher can’t make it, a member of the ASE committee will call parents. Children should go home as they normally do if their class is cancelled. If for some reason your child cannot follow their usual dismissal routine, please notify the office.
Make up classes
If a class is cancelled, the teacher will try to reschedule the class by adding another date and the end of each program. If your child can’t attend the makeup class there will be no refunds. If classes can’t be made up due to calendar limitations, no refunds will be issued.

Parent Chaperones
Parent chaperones are required for all workshops except for Mr. Hackett’s gym classes. There must be a parent chaperone at every workshop for the entire session. Classes will not be held if there is not a chaperone for every scheduled class and monies will be refunded.
Responsibilities include:
  • Arrive at 3:20pm
  • Pick up class folder in office and go to all Grade K-1 classrooms and Grades 3-5 in Cafeteria to collect students enrolled in your ASE class.
  • Attend the entire class, making sure the teacher is present and assist (if needed).
  • Escort children to bathroom, water, etc…
  • Stay until each child is picked up at end. Parents must sign student out. TLC Students escorted to TLC room. Return folder to office.
  • Make sure classroom is left as it was found.
  • On the registration form, please indicate dates you are available to chaperone.
  • If you volunteer to chaperone for an entire session, you will be given a 50% discount on that class, upon completion of the program.

Children incorporate STEM elements to learn step-by-step howto build their own airplanes that actually fly, and then go and fly them together with the class! Along the way they learn the history and science of aviation, as well as the parts of the plane, skills like measuring angles, sanding and gluing.They take home every plane they build, and have the satisfaction of knowing they crafted it with their own hands

A hands-on and fun introduction to the world of magic performance! Kids learn 1-2 entertaining and mystifying tricks each week. They learn the secrets of magic, the importance of practice, how to present in front of a group, and storytelling skills. They take home every trick they learn and have the pleasure and satisfaction of performing them for friends and family at home. The last session is a highlight when we invite parents for a final magic show.

Are you like me and LOVE creating fun, cute projects for the different seasons and holidays? Well if so, this is the class for you! In this class, students will have the opportunity to use their creative minds to create crafts themed around the seasons and holidays that occur during or close to this portion of the year. Each student must bring an adult size T-Shirt to use as a smock that will stay with the instructor until the end of the ASE session.

“Yoga and mindfulness for children promotes resilience, positive perceptions, healthy habits and mindful awareness, empowering children to excel at school, at home and in life” ~ Lisa Flynn. Children face a busy world with many things demanding their attention. In this program children will stretch, move and grow physically, socially and emotionally. Students will:

  • Explore a variety of yoga-based activities including individual and partner team poses designed to build strength, flexibility, balance and overall body awareness
  • Learn a variety of breathing exercises for calming and improving emotional awareness
  • Express themselves creatively through reflection journaling and art activities
  • Gain confidence and have fun!
