Jan Loney … makes art that is appealing, provocative, thoughtful, and interesting. Her portfolio undoubtedly is testimonial enough. What is so much less obvious and therefore so critical to elucidate is how well she works with her clients. Jan listened carefully and without defensiveness to myriad suggestions. She took input and distilled it into a work of art that everyone loves. She never conceded on her artistic vision. Rather, she made the mural an interactive process. She directed us, simultaneously making every one of us feel like we were significant contributors. For us it was empowering. In fact, I dare say that our combined pleasure with the final product has actually brought the college’s disparate departments closer together.”
—Eric Pallant, Ph. D., Chairman of the Dept. of Environmental Science at Allegheny College
