Mobile Homes on lots…..
It has been brought to the attention of the board, that a few of our members would like to put in mobile homes or park model trailers on their lots. We have met with the County of Two Hills to find out where we stand in this regard.
"County Regulations regarding our Property "
Pelican Bay property is zoned as a RV Park, which means we can only have one permanent resident and the rest of the units have to be the RV type, that can be legally pulled behind a power unit or can power itself and in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.
Highway Traffic Act (AR155/95)
#9 (1) NO PERSON SHALL, ON A HIGHWAY, OPERATE A VEHICLE THAT TOWS A TRAILER:
(a)THAT EXCEEDS 2.60 meters (8'-6")IN WIDTH, OR
(b) THAT SHALL EXCEED A HEIGHT OF 3.85 meters (12'-7") AS MEASURED FROM THE ROAD SURFACE.
Please be aware that if we were to go ahead with the above mentioned lodgings our Taxes would increase dramatically, not just for the effected lot but for everyone in the park. This would bring our maintenance dues to a new high.
If you have any questions/concerns please contact the board.
BOARD LETTER OF THE MONTH:
This Issue we have Blair Curtis – Vice-President…
“Resigning was the furthest thing from my mind when I worked so vigorously to become a Director of Pelican Bay Co-operative. However, I must leave the position at the end of May 2000.
Health and growing burdens in other areas have drained me of the energy and enthusiasm needed to conduct my duties and responsibilities required of me as one of the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors and those with whom I’ve worked with, have added immense meaning to my life. The only regret I have is that I am unable to stay on as a board member. But I will help out in any way I can.
We should all be very proud of what we have accomplished in working together as a very large group to make this deal happen, so that our children and ourselves have a special place to go and enjoy one of lives little pleasures.
In closing I’d like to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to be involved in what will end up to be one of the nicest parks in Alberta.”
Sincerely,
Blair Curtis
WE NEED YOUR HELP !!
Written by board member Stuart Palace, Lot 66 South
Hello everyone. Although there has not been much action at the lake over the winter, the board members have been meeting each month to discuss ongoing business. I have taken on the task to work on both improving communications with all members as well as reducing administration costs on going.
Technology has made incredible advances over the last several years allowing us to look at new methods of communicating and managing our business and we would like to start taking advantage of this. By using the Internet, we can start communicating better and we are looking at setting up a Web page to provide all information on Pelican Bay as well as use this as a means to get feedback from members. By using e-mail, we can send newsletters, park documents and billing statements to members and save money by doing this.
To ensure this is worth moving forward with, we need a significant number of members to have connection to the Internet and have e-mail addresses. If you do have a connection, please send an e-mail to myself at providing the following information:
- Name AND Lot Number(s)
- Do you agree with having a Web Page (we will do this at absolute minimum cost)?
- Would you like to receive information and billing over the Internet/E-mail?
- Would you prefer the Web Site be secured to members only?
- Any other comments regarding this that you have
For those of you that don’t have e-mail, you can call me with your opinions at (780) 489-6720 or mail me at 329 Westridge Rd, Edmonton, AB, T5T 1C4. Also let me know if you are thinking of getting an Internet connection over the next while.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that those of you having e-mail, respond so we can understand how many of our members will benefit from this. If it is determined that we will move forward using the Internet, the more members we communicate with using the Internet, the more money we will save. We will continue to communicate the way we have, for those of you that have not identified having connection to the Internet.
Thanks for your help !!
