Background includes Technical Director of an international building materials supplier, Manager of the High Performance Concrete Research Group at the National University of Singapore, Technical Manager of Taywood Engineering and Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College.

Independent Verifier for the BurjKhalifain Dubai which is the world’s tallest tower. He is currently Technical Director of Concrete Future, Technical Director (casual) with AECOM’s Materials group and Adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW. BurjKhalifa, Dubai (World’s Tallest Tower – 828m) - Independent Verifier with responsibilities for reviewing specification, QA/QC and testing materials as well as evaluating proposed fabricators, suppliers and subcontractors.Acted as trusted advisor and honest broker among the various parties during construction.

Federation Tower, Moscow (Tallest Tower in Europe - 372m) - Review of concrete mix designs and materials as well as site inspection and advice on quality control and quality assurance procedures.

Al-Hamra Tower, Kuwait (Kuwait's tallest tower 412m) Technical review of concrete mix design and materials for the concrete raft. The high volume fly ash option was accepted which enabled full compliance with the specification requirements for the 3.7 metre thick raft in spite of the lack of availability of flake ice.

Sydney Opera House–Condition assessment of concrete plinths and developing maintenance recommendations to SOH.Specification review and concrete consultancy forthis complex and challenging iconic structure.

Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, UTS Sydney - Development of specialist mortar and procedures for the masonry façade to this iconic university building designed by Frank Gehry.

350 Mission, San Francisco – Provided heat of hydration modelling and technical advice for 30-story office building witha3 metre thick mat foundation.

MASDAR, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E- Master Specification review for a zero carbon, zero waste city. A leading sustainability initiative with an estimated cost of US$ 20 billion.

Heart of Doha, Qatar- Providing support in the selection suitable-premix-suppliers and preparation of guidelines for concrete mixes to achieve the durability and sustainability requirements of the project as well as LEED audits of premix suppliers and technical assessment of the proposals.

Geopolymer concrete, Australia - Preparation of State of the Art Report and assisting in engineering appraisal of the product on behalf of Wagners

Global Change Institute, UniversityofQueensland- Independent certification of geopoIymer precast beam and slab elements as Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).

South Atwell Primary School, W.A. - Review of sustainability considerations for concrete to be used which set a benchmark for sustainable design in school buildings. Winner of 2005 M.B.A Excellence in Construction Awards Best Public Building, Best Energy Efficient Building & Best Practice of Building Sustainability.

Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport- Built with approximately 40,000 m3 of geopolymer concrete making it the largest application in the world. Geopolymer concrete was used for the turning node, apron and taxiways pavements using a slip form paving machine. Provided technical support and involved in on-going monitoring.
