1.  Article Review: “Neuronal ensemble control of prosthetic devices by a human with tetraplegia” by Leigh R. Hochberg et al. (2006)

2.  Round Table Discussion: Research Developments

Simon - Reading.

-  Talked to Manuella about CT data – got some files.

-  Working next week on these files to get them up and running.

-  Questioned possibility of making a case study out of EMG project

o  Selectively contracting VL and VM

o  General response was that it is worth a shot, but it has no real clinical application so it’s unlikely to progress.

Heather - Finishing gait up over next couple of days. Flying WWII aircraft this weekend.

Stacey - Image matching - fluoro

-  Reading articles.

-  Would like to design protocol to test accuracy of COP on force plate.

o  Suggested calling AMTI to learn their standard procedure.

-  Or use OptoTrak to validate.

Rebecca - Fluoro data and image matching. Patterns look similar to OptoTrak data.

-  Joint Track optimization concerns

o  Will contact company.

Scott - Played with data from last week. Put it into OpenSim, reflected leg.

-  RASIS always lower than LASIS.

-  Plans to do inverse and forward dynamics.

-  Possible problems with Vista.

Johan - Finished Zimmer subjects (52).

-  Problems with 22, going to try to fix them.

-  6 subjects have no trials.

-  8 subjects have more than 9 digitized points (extra).

-  Gimbal – did some machining last week, got delayed because of lost USB key

Nicole - Roommate moved out – needs some furniture

-  Doing ethics.

-  Possible difficulty with pointer length

o  Looking for longer pointer.

3.  General Business

3.1  Kevin’s Announcements: - BACK UP REMINDER (once each week)

-  New summer student – Claire Bouvier (admin tasks)

-  Rm 215 will be busy this summer, many students in and out

-  New summer student Taylor – may help with Simon’s stuff, fluoro of ankle

o  Contacted Stacey about fluoro ethics approval, etc.

-  Matlab licensing – may be getting new IP connected license, will know more in 2 days.

-  July 7th – 11th Kevin away in Brockville, potentially in and out of office periodically.

3.2  Symposium Update – July sometime

3.3  Adventure/Fun Day Confirmation:

-  Rain Day: Bowling

-  Need at least one canoe

-  Kevin to provide timing plan

-  Heather will send out directions to e-mail
