Lincoln Ghost Story
Jack Kendrick & Grace Leonard
#Clip of part of a ghost story being told#
Narrator:
Do you, believe in ghosts? Well if you do you’re not alone, a whopping 34% of the Great British public also say they do believe with a further 9% saying they’ve had communications with the dead. Now Lincoln is known for steep hill, the castle and the cathedral, but Lincoln is also known for its 32 documented resident ghosts.
Since 1996 Lincoln has hosted the ghost walk which is ran by Margret Green. It started for Margret when her and husband moved to Lincoln and bought a cottage which unknown to them turned out to be haunted.
I myself am in that 34% that do believe in ghosts, I’ve personally been on several investigations and witnessed things that I can not to this day still explain. I have had whispers in my ears, my shirt being pulled and have seen vivid apparitions in the corner of my eye and when I go to actually look at them they aren’t there.
Grace was able to talk to a young man and although he is a sceptic he went on Lincoln’s ghost walk and a ghost walk back in his home country of Ireland.

Narrator:
Now I’ve never been on Lincoln’s ghost walk so I took my college, Grace Leonard and we both decided we would go and whiteness it first hand. Now what you’re about to hear is only a small part of the paranormal history of Lincoln.

Narrator:
The next trip we took was just outside the castle, and it was of the judges houses this story just made me want to go up and see what was on the top floor.

Narrator:
After learning about the vast history of the judges houses we was guided over to the White Hart Hotel, were it was explained to us that the hotel is most well documented hotel in all of Lincoln. Now there is a number of hauntings in this establishment so many in fact we could do a whole show about it, but we only chose two. Now I am personally fascinated with the unexplained, and if your like me these first hand counts will tease your imagination.

Narrator:
Now our second story from the hotel is a first hand count from one of the receptionists who works there, who claims to have seen a gruesome apparition.

Narrator:
Now after listening to a few of the spooky stories and the history of the hotel, our attention was focused on one of England’s most important medieval buildings, Lincoln Cathedral. Where two of Lincoln’s infamous guests still reside.

Narrator:
As we walked round the back of the cathedral we were informed that a bishop who’s remains allegedly healed the mans arm of his blisters, and open sores. The man reported only laid the arm on the bishops body and he was healed this news reached the pope and the pope ordered that the remains needed to be placed somewhere appropriate for now, the bishop was known as Saint Hugh.

Narrator:
Now I don’t know if you heard because it was only very subtle, but as our guide Dan says
*Clip*
You can hear three slap like noises which nobody on the tour heard, at the time. Only going over our audio did we notice this. We know that nobody on the tour made these noises as everyone was completely still at the time.
*Clip*
In the same area we are told of a friendlier ghost that likes to make his presence known, as well as a few spirts that are still clinging on to old habits.

Narrator:
Now a few of the technical problems Dan listed, was in the same area we caught the unexplained bouncing noises. Our recording equipment started to go completely faulty and the batteries where just drained, but where completely fine again as soon as we moved away from the area. Also at this time I decided to take some photos but the camera had already been taking pictures without my knowledge, as well as some of the photos I did take a few of them decided to delete themselves. After the tour was over Dan was kind enough to stay and have a chat with myself and Grace.
