  1. The issue as proposed by the E&A TC was as follows:

A front wake flip shall be defined as a forward somersault done in the air off the wake in which the tail of the ski passes up and over the head as the head goes down and forward. The rotation must be in the direction of travel and outside of the rope. Both feet must be above the head and in approximately the same vertical plane at some point during the execution of the trick. This rule applies to Front Flips and its derivatives. (ex : FFLF, FFLB, FFLBB, etc.)

Discussion and debate followed including reviewing tournament and submitted videos.

After the discussion, the motion was approved to accept the wording submitted.

2. World Games Rules

The concept forwarded for discussion was that as a sport we must progress to where the results are final immediately at the conclusion of the event so that results can be published and medals awarded.

It is recognized that this is a change in position from our current rules which allow many avenues of challenge of the results.

There was much discussion about possible mechanisms including Mandatory Trick lists, double technical systems for back-up, and the most qualified Chief Judge. In essence, the rules must be simpler for the general public to understand.

The council approved the concept and a sub-committee of Felipe Leal COL, Candido Moz ITA and Clementine Lucine FRA was appointed to provide detailed rule change suggestions to accomplish these goals.

3. A petition to increase the Women 55+ jump speed from 48kmph to 51kmph was considered and approved.

4. A petition to include 65+ in teams for the World 35+ Championships was considered and approved.

The details of how many additional team skiers and what additional scores count for the team score will be recommended in a future meeting.

5. A recommendation to adopt the new sideslide definition as proposed by AWSA as follows:

A Side Slide includes a 90-degree turn from skiing position and a return to skiing position in the original direction. In order for a Side Slide to be a creditable trick, the skier must hesitate before commencing the trick, turn 90 degrees to either side, stop, return to the starting position, and stop. To perform the reverse, the skier must turn 90 degrees in the opposite direction, stop, return to the starting position, and hesitate again.

This was voted on and approved.

6. A question was raised about the 55m buoys in the slalom course. Since they are now mandatory does the slalom path include going through the green buoys. What was generally agreed was that in short lake situations, the boat does not necessarily need to go through the 55m buoys on exiting the course, but the boat must maintain a straight path as long as the skier is in the course.

7. The TC considered the request from the Latrobe tournament (Australia) to hold an Elite Overall tournament and an Elite Slalom tournament at reduced introductory tournament levels even though a full Elite slalom tournament was held there last year.

The council agreed to this to encourage the start of an Overall Elite ranking which it had approved in concept at its last meeting.

Respectfully Submitted,

Bob Corson
