Academics

Was nearby as I was living in Charlottesville my senior year in high school.

Had engineering program I was interested in and was local.

Aerospace Engineering

Interested in airplanes

Mostly enjoyable. Most engineering classes were small and had a lot of contact with professor, physics, chemistry and mainline liberal arts courses were large and were isolated from the professor. Took one liberal arts seminar and that was interesting. Laboratory courses were work but were very interesting.

George Matthews -- flew model airplanes with him. John Scott -- my advisor. Liberal Art Seminar -- Small, intense class. Thermodynamics -- Knowledge games.

John Phipps -- research assistant -- helped a lot in my research projects.

Research work in the labs. Participation in the design and fabrication of new wind tunnel.
