It was a gorgeous day for football. The Falcon’s sent Rance Wood (#9), Joseph Ebrom (#94), Jerry Surber (#43), and Dillon Rambin (#14) out as captains. The elected to defend the left end of the field.

The Falcon’s kick-off team consisted of: Chase Efird (#27), Joshua McMillin (#8), Tre Webb (#93), Colton Moses (#42), Christian Mendoza (#65), Rance Wood, Gatlin Dryer (#60), Dillon Rambin, Cody Rodgers (#91), Joseph Ebrom, and Max Fender (#84 – kicker). Alvin returned the kick-off to the 32-yard line where Joseph Ebrom and Gatlin Dryer made the stop. On the first play, Alvin gained 4 yards where Brody Thomas (#97) made the tackle. Then Joseph Martello (#41) made the tackle at the line of scrimmage. Colton Moses and Matt Twardowski (#77) combined on the tackle after Alvin earned a 1st down. Michael Cano then stacked up the runner for a slight loss. Alvin then had a mix-up in the backfield and Brody Thomas made the tackle for a loss of one. Michael Cano made another tackle at the line of scrimmage, bringing up a 4th and 10. Alvin called a Time Out, then ran a pass play that was incomplete. Falcon’s take over on downs.

Clear Lake’s offensive line consisted of: Jesus Tejada (#76), Ben Vail (#78), Nathan Elling (#53 – center), Brandon Kattner (#64), and Stephen Chapman (#74). Joshua McMillin and Rance Wood were the starting receivers. Jerry Surber breaks through the line and runs for 25 yards. The Falcon’s change receivers and bring in Taylor See (#44), and Kamrin Lindberg (#7), while Jerry gains 6 yards on a run. Then Justin Jordan (#22) busts it open scoring a touchdown. Justin gets the call on the conversion, but Alvin stopped the attempt. Falcons lead: 6 – 0 with 4:42 left in the 1st Quarter.

On the kick-off, Christian Mendoza tackles the returner at the 40-yard line. Logan Akers (#30) tackled the runner after just 3 yards, followed by Joseph Martello’s tackle for a 5-yard gain. Then Tre Webb and Ben Ainsworth (#73) combine on a tackle after an Alvin 1st down. Joseph Martello then makes a tackle after a gain of 9 yards. Ben Ainsworth and Garrett Moore (#92) combined on the tackle after another Alvin 1st down. Ben Ainsworth and Nicholas Mucha (#66) combine on the tackle after a 3-yard run. Alvin then completes a long pass on the right side and earns a 1st down at the 17-yard line where Chase Efird made the tackle. Joseph Martello and Tung Le (#20) held the runner to 3 yards, followed by Matt Twardowski only giving up 1 yard to end the 1st Quarter. The 2nd Quarter started with Chase Efird making a tackle that caused the Alvin receiver to drop the ball for what would have been a touchdown. With a 4th and 6, Alvin tried a reverse run that only gained 3 yards. Falcons take over again on downs.

The Falcon’s started with a quarterback (Michael Zienty - #12) keeper to the 16-yard line. Then Michael Cano ran for a 1st down. Jerry Surber had a good run, but fumbled; luckily, Clear Lake recovered the ball and had another 1st down. Justin Jordan ran for 12 yards and another 1st down to the 41-yard line. Tung Le added 2 yards and Michael Cano added 2 yards with runs. A toss to the left side enabled Justin Jordan to run for a 1st down into Alvin territory. A toss to the right side set Jerry Surber loose as he ran across the goal line; however, a Holding penalty brought the play back. A QB keeper gained 3 yards, followed by a fumbled snap and recovery. The Falcon’s ran another toss left to Justin Jordan that earned a 1st down at the 31-yard line. Then Jerry Surber broke a run up the middle for a touchdown. Jerry converted the extra point to give the Falcon’s a 14 – 0 lead with 3:06 left in the half.

Max Fender kicked the ball high, and Tre Webb was able to make the recovery at Alvin’s 36-yard line. The Falcon’s put in the 2nd string offense with Patrick Englett (#54), Nicholas Mucha, Nicolas Ngo (#70 – center), Ben Ainsworth, and Stewart Clement (#51), using Kamrin Lindberg and Taylor See as the receivers. Dillon Rambin handed off to Tung Le for 3 yards, followed by Chase Efird fighting hard for 1 yard. Then Tung Le gained 2 yards, bringing up a 4th and 3 at the 30-yard line. Unfortunately, Chase Efird was stopped short.

With 44 seconds left in the half, Alvin threw an incomplete pass with Chase Efird having the coverage. Then Charles Campise (#50) forces the fumble that Clear Lake recovered in the backfield with 33 seconds left. The Falcon’s run a toss right with Colton Moses having a big run to the 7-yard line. The QB hands off to Colton, who gains 5 more yards. Then a toss to the left side allows Chase Efird to score the touchdown. Colton was unable to convert, so the Falcons now lead 20 – 0 with 10 seconds left in the half.

Colton Moses and Tre Webb combine on the tackle of the kick-off receiver at the Alvin 44-yard line. Alvin is only able to run one pass play that was complete at the Clear Lake 45-yard line when the half ended.

Clear Lake started the 2nd half with Tung Le returning the ball to the 40-yard line, however, an Illegal Blocking penalty brought the play back, setting up a 1st and 10 at the 27-yard line. Jerry Surber gained 3 yards before Justin Jordan took the pitch left for a touchdown. The Personal Foul penalty on Alvin would be assessed on the kick-off. Jerry Surber converted the extra point to give the Falcon’s a 28 – 0 lead with 8:49 in the 3rd Quarter.

Colton Moses made the tackle on the Alvin receiver at the 21-yard line thanks to the penalty from the touchdown. Then Joseph Martello and Brody Thomas combined on a tackle after a 9-yard gain. This allowed Alvin to get a 1st down on their next play before Michael Cano, Ben Ainsworth, and Brody Thomas made the stop. Tre Webb then held the runner gainless. Alvin’s QB then rolled right and passed it for 5 yards, where Logan Akers made the tackle. A gang tackle led by Tre Webb stopped Alvin for no gain. Colton Moses saved a touchdown making a tackle on the pass receiver at the 20-yard line. Colton Moses and Michael Russo (#75) combined on a tackle after a gain of 6. Alvin then earned a 1st and goal at the 7-yard line before Dillon Rambin and Colton Moses made the tackle. On the next play, Alvin scored a touchdown. The conversion attempt was a pass that was tipped away by Colton Moses. Falcons now lead 28 – 6 with 3:24 left in the 3rd Quarter.

Clear Lake received the kick-off, with Chase Efird returning the ball 15 yards. The 1st string offense, with Michael Velasquez (#90 – center), began the drive with Jerry Surber gaining 4 yards, 3 yards, and 1 yard to bring up a 4th and 2 at the 44-yard line. A QB keeper gets the 1st down. Joseph Martello got the toss right, but fumbled; Alvin recovered at the 46-yard line.

On Alvin’s first play of the drive, Chase Efird was called for pass interference, giving them a 1st down at the 30-yard line. Alvin gained 9 yards, with Austin Orr (#67) making the tackle to end the 3rd Quarter. Colton Moses held Alvin to a short gain, but not after they earned a 1st down. Colton then made another tackle at the sideline for no gain. Austin Orr and James Casiano (#95) combined on the tackle of a draw play bringing up a 3rd down, and causing Alvin to take a Time Out. Returning to the field, Alvin threw an incomplete pass, and on their 4th down play, had the pass tipped by Chase Efird and intercepted by Dillon Rambin at the 2-yard line.

Michael Zienty started their drive with a keeper that was stopped at the line of scrimmage. The QB kept the ball again on the next play and broke through the defense, running to the 42-yard line. A toss right to Colton Moses gained another 20 yards. Then Michael Zienty was tripped-up on a bootleg for a loss of 6 yards. Justin Jordan took the toss left for no gain, bringing up a 3rd and 16. With a 1-yard gain by Michael Cano, the Falcons bring in Dillon Rambin at QB, who pitches to Michael Zienty, who throws an incomplete pass to Joshua McMillin.

Alvin takes over on downs with 3:44 left in the game. Their first pass is incomplete, with the next pass tipped away by Colton Moses. Then Logan Akers and Bradley Williams (#68) combine to stop the draw play, bringing up a 4th and 8. The pass is complete for a 1st down at the Clear Lake 42. An incomplete pass is followed by a short pass, where Joseph Ebrom makes the tackle. Then Alvin gets another first down with Alex Kakaletris (#87) making the tackle. Two incomplete passes, the last with John Coyle (#55) in coverage, are followed by Kamrin Lindberg nearly intercepting the ball. Alvin now faces a 4th and 10. They stay alive with a pass to the 17-yard line, where Michael Zienty and Colton Finnigan (#81) make the tackle. Then an incomplete pass in the end zone. Another incomplete pass with Scott Douglas (#85) providing tight coverage. A Pass Interference penalty gives Alvin a 1st and goal at the 7-yard line with 31 seconds left in the game. A good hit by Colton Finnigan causes a fumble and James Minnick (#40) recovers. The Falcon offense just kneels on the ball and lets the clock run out. Falcons win: 28 – 6.
