It’s December and the end of another busy year at Southern Timber. We would like to thank all of our customers for your business this year and wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We will be closing for Christmas at 13.00 on Friday 22nd December and opening again on Tuesday 2ndJanuary at 07.30. Our last delivery day before Christmas is Thursday 21st December. We will not be making any deliveries on Friday 22nd December.
Trading conditions have been challengingthis year as the uncertainty surrounding Brexit has had knock on effects in exchange rates and prices have been volatile for the last 18 months. We will continue to source and offer the best possible product at the best possible price. We are already negotiating with suppliers and buying stock to minimise price increases in the New Year. Prices of Western Red Cedar, Oak flooring, sheet materials and carcassing timber appear to be levelling out again.
Celotex insulation continues to be difficult to source and prices are set to beuncertain next year. We will continue to keep Celotex in stock but we are now offering an alternative product in the Actis Hybris.
Actis Hybris is an insulation material for timber frame or masonry walls, pitched roofs or ceiling applications. Hybris is a reflective insulation product based on ahoneycomb structure and is available in1145mm widepanels (which when cut friction fit perfectly for 600mm or 400mmstudwork spacing)andin a range ofthicknessesfrom 50mm to205mm. Its high thermal performance is provided by a special structurecomposed of a large number of low emissivity cavities,protected from dust andexcessive air movement. The low emissivity external filmsprovideadditional thermal resistance. Its components are healthy, respectful of indoor air, without irritating fibres. It is very light and pleasant to install. 2017 has also seen us move into our new office space and 2018 will prove to be just as exciting as the building project continues. The concrete floor has now gone in to the space left following the removal of the old office. We thank you for your continued understanding as the building work continues and we make our office and showroom better for customers and staff alike.
