DELIVERIES
For the security and well-being of our students, no deliveries other than those brought by a student’s emergency contact will be accepted or allowed on campus. This includes food and drink deliveries. Anyone other than an emergency contact will be turned away with the item they are trying to deliver.

COLLEGE SPEAKERS PRESENTATIONS
The following colleges will be at Oakmont to share information about their schools. If you are interested in hearing any of these college presentations, please log into your Naviance Family Connection Accounts to sign up or stop by the College & Career Center for more information. These college presentations are scheduled Tuesdays – Fridays during Intervention in the College and Career Center. Presentations are open to all grade levels and drop-ins are welcome and encouraged to attend. Be sure to check your Naviance accounts for the most up-to-date list of presentations.

UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA RENO
UNR will conduct an on-site admissions workshop for seniors on November 8th by appointment only. Seniors MUST go online and apply to UNR prior to November 1st to be eligible to participate in the on-site admissions workshop. Please let Mrs. Leedy in the College & Career Center know if you are planning on attending this workshop. You will need to pick-up a permission slip and have it signed by a parent so that we can send your official transcript to UNR. Students who apply and participate at this event will have a great idea of their admission status that same day.
ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)
Interested in the Military or just want to take a Career Assessment? Sign up to take the ASVAB via Naviance, a permission slip is required to attend and can be found in the document library of your Naviance Family Connection Account. ASVAB Test Administration date is November 16th from 7:45 a.m. – 11:00 in the Library.
OHS 3rd ANNUAL CAREER FAIR
Mark your calendars for Monday, October 19th during both lunches for our 3rd Annual OHS Career Fair. We will have over 30 industry representatives here eager to share their career paths and journey with you. Participating career professionals that have confirmed so far are; FBI, Hewlett-Packard/Information Technology, Lawyer, Accountant, Engineer, Flight Attendant, Poker/Card Dealer, Cosmetologist, Forensic Scientist, Psychologist, CHP Officer, Sherriff’s Deputy, California Correctional Officer and many more.
JUNIORS
FBI TEEN ACADEMY
The FBI Teen Academy exposes students who attend to our careers, values and priorities; introduces the types of cases the FBI investigates; improves awareness of the hidden dangers of social media, online communication and more; inspires a desire for physical fitness; and encourages maintenance of a healthy lifestyle free of crime, drugs, gangs and violence. After attending, students are better prepared to serve as role models in their academic and social communities. This exciting experience will be offered to a limited number of students on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Roseville. For more information or an application please see Mrs. Leedy in the College and Career Center. Applications are due Thursday, October 12th.
SPECIAL EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
HALLOWEEN SHOW
Come see Drama's annual Halloween Show, a student-directed show full of fun and frightening characters. The show is performed once each period on Halloween Day, but the reservations for attendance are taken in order of sign-ups received from individual teachers. Sad your class missed out? Come to the final performance, a free, open to the public show beginning at 3:00pm October 31st. Bring your friends, family, and friendly neighborhood ghosts and support drama.

Oakmont Cheer & Stunt 6th Annual Pasta Feed
Saturday, October 14th, 2017 from 5:30pm – 9:00pm join our Cheer team for all you can eat pasta, salad, garlic bread, dessert and bingo. Tickets are $20.00 per person. See any Oakmont cheerleader for tickets or purchase a home football games.
