Dear Parents,

It is with a great deal of excitement and anticipation that I write this letter to you! The start of a new school year is a time for students to make and renew friendships, settle back into school year schedules, and look forward to new experiences. For me, part of this new experience is the thrill of meeting and cultivating relationships with new students and their parents. I’d like to begin that process by introducing myself to you.

I was born in Naperville, Illinois but grew up in Edina, Minnesota and now live in Golden Valley! I attended the University of Minnesota and earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In the summer of 2013 I completed my Masters in Elementary Education at the U of M and this will be my sixth year teaching 1st grade at Meadowbrook.

I am the youngest of four children with two older sisters and an older brother. My family is a big part of my life and they all live close by so I get to see them a lot! I love babysitting for my four nieces & nephews (7, 5, 2 & almost 6 months!) and I have a lot of fun being the favorite aunt J In my free time I enjoy watching football (cheering for the best team: Chicago Bears!) and spending time with friends.

I have worked with children most of my life. I consider all children to be our promise for the future and deserving of the very best education. I’m excited to get to know your children, help them learn and grow and have a great 1st grade year! I also look forward to working with you toward that end.

It is important for us to work together so please don’t hesitate to call or email me whenever you have a need. My email address is and my school phone number is 952-988-5089. If you leave a message on my voicemail I will make every effort to return your call promptly. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year – I hope your child is too!

Sincerely,

Anna Ruess
