2017 New Hampshire State Championships
Welcome Parents!
It is hard to believe that the 2017 competition is at the point where
we need to talk about the state championships. The season goes by
quickly, and soon enough we will be back at Brentwood for the 2017 State Championships.
Once again, the state championships will be a qualification event for select athletes to attend the New England Championships (Level 4 and 5) and Region 6 Championships (Level 6 – 10). Each year, we receive the allotment system for qualification to those championship events near the middle of February. Stay tuned for those!
There will be two sessions at the 2017 State Championships. BOTH sessions will be sanctioned.
Meet Location: Gymnastics at Brentwood (112 Crawley Falls Road, Brentwood, NH 03833)
Session 1: Level 4 and 5 Competition (Division I and II)- Traditional Format
Sunday, March 12th 8:00am check-in, 9:30am competition begins
· Information about New England Championships, including session times, qualifying scores, and quotas will be sent to you when they are determined by the regional director.
· All qualifiers will be announced at the conclusion of the State Championships.
· All state team qualifiers will be announced at the conclusion of the meet (see below).
Session 2: Level 6-10 (Division I and II) and Junior Developmental Competition- Capital Cup
Sunday, March 12th 12:45pm check-in, 1:15pm First event warm-up, 1:30pm competition
· Information about Regional Championships, including session times, qualifying scores, and quotas will be sent to you when they are determined by the regional director.
· All regional qualifiers will be announced at the conclusion of the State Championships.
· All state team qualifiers will be announced at the conclusion of the meet (see below).
New Hampshire State Team
*At our state board meeting in October 2016, we created the following guidelines:
· We will continue with our State Team Program- The team will represent our finest gymnasts in the state of New Hampshire.
· We are recognizing the top athletes in each level, regardless of age.
· The state team athletes will be selected at 2017 State Championships based on the following criteria from state meet results:
2017 State Team Selection Criteria
Level 4 (Top 5 of all combined)
Level 5 (Top 4 of all combined)
Level 6 (Top 4 of all combined)
Level 7 (Top 4 of all combined)
Level 8 (Top 3 of all combined)
Level 9 (Top 3 of all combined)
Level 10 (Top 3 of all combined)
· State Team members will be announced at the 2017 State Championships
· Level 4 State Team athletes will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and certificate. They will not attend the state team clinics
· Level 5 – 10 State Team athletes will receive a long sleeve t-shirt and certificate. They will also be invited to attend 2 clinics, free of charge. One clinic will be held in the time frame between states/regionals (Date and location will be announced at the State Championships) and one clinic will be held in the summer (Date and location will be announced at the first clinic).
Ad Book:
· We will be creating an Ad/program book for the State Championships. This is our ONLY fundraiser for the state men’s program. We know that you already contribute so much of your time AND money. One hundred percent of the money raised from the ad book goes directly back to our NH athletes for scholarships, recognizing our seniors, and sending our athletes to prestigious summer camps. The money could support your athlete in the near future. Ad book will be handed out FREE at the State Meet.
