AFA Makes Key Appointments

SYDNEY: 1 February, 2016 –The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has today announced a number of new appointments to key roles made over the New Year.

The AFA has welcomed Troy Nutley to the newly created role of Senior Adviser, Policy and Professionalism. Reporting to the AFA’s General Manager, Policy, Professionalism and Marketing, Samantha Clarke, Mr Nutley is responsible for the research, development and documentation of the AFA’s public policy and association professionalism agenda.

“Troy has an impressive financial services background, having consulted to Centrepoint Alliance on professional standards for the past two years,” said AFA CEO, Brad Fox. “He also brings with him a great understanding of consumers, having previously worked as a case manager for the Financial Ombudsman Service. Over a period of seven years, Troy had first hand experience of consumer disputes and played an important role in helping to resolve them.”

Mr Nutley completed a Bachelor Laws/Bachelor of Business, with a Business Major in Financial Management in 2013 and recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University.

Also joining the AFA team in 2016 is Peter Windle who has been appointed General Manager, Financial Operations. Mr Windle has a long and distinguished accounting career.

“Peter previously worked as a Chief Operating Officer for a number of professional services companies in Australia, and had responsibilities across the Asia Pacific Region. He was also briefly based in the United Kingdom,” Mr Fox said. “He brings with him a high level of financial management experience and business operations capability and is a welcome addition to the AFA’s senior management team.”

Mr Windle is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Financial Management.

The AFA has also welcomed Events Associate, Natasha Raleigh. Ms Raleigh’s primary responsibility is the planning and delivery of AFA events.

“The AFA has continued to invest in our ability to meet the expectations of our rapidly growing membership, and particularly to support policy and professionalism to stay ahead of the regulatory curve,” said Mr Fox.
