2017 Star Island Conference Grant Application Form

The Isles of Shoals Association Unitarian Universalist, Inc.(ISA-UU) reserves the right to accept or refuse applications. In the event a grant is given, the Association disclaims responsibility for the specific uses to which funds are applied.

Deadline: The grant submission deadline is February 15, 2017. Final decisions will be made in early March. This completed grant application form should be sent as an attachment to by the deadline. If this process poses a problem for your conference please e-mail the same address well in advance to make other arrangements. A confirmation e-mail will be sent when your grant submission has been received. Priority will be given to applications submitted by the deadline, late submissions will be considered if there are remaining funds. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within a few days please resend your grant submission.

Please note that grant amounts are limited. We therefor encourage matching funds with grant submissions, indicating that some portion of the funding for the stated request is being supported by the conference. The Star Island Corporation has a separate Financial Grants Program that addresses needs of individual conferees, therefore ISA-UU grant awards will focus on supporting conference programs.

Grants are made annually, and have typically been in the range of several hundred dollars. This funding is intended for new projects and programs, rather than as subsidies to ongoing budgets. Grants are meant to foster the educational, religious and cultural aspects of on-island conferences. We look for proposals that:

·  Support conference programs

·  Initiate physical or cultural change

·  Bring new Shoalers to the island

·  Encourage individual contributions

Program support may include room and board for speaker and staff, and/or supplies for various programs such as art, music, children’s activities, etc. Program support may NOT include honorariums or travel, or marketing expenses.

When a grant is made by the Association, it would be appreciated if the grant were acknowledged publicly at the conference.

Funds granted for the 2017 Conference season are available for disbursement until October 15, 2017, at which time the grant is terminated and funds are retained by the ISA-UU. Any grant funds unspent by the conference should be returned to the ISA Treasurer. For Conferences to receive funds in advance, a Tax ID # must be provided. Conferences without tax ID numbers will receive reimbursement after receipts have been received. Further information will be provided with grant approval notification.

If your conference received grant funds in 2016, please provide with this application a brief summary of how the ISAUU grant funds contributed to your program with this application
