Description of the masterclass

A 7-day conducting course:

·  6 orchestra sessions (once on 5 days, plus 1 dress rehearsal) – 1.200 min. total podium time, including: - 140’ podium time for each fully active student - 80’ podium time for a group of 6 semi- active students selected by the teacher during the masterclass

·  daily classes in technique (chamber ensemble/piano) and analysis for both fully active and semi-active students– 3 hours per day, 6 days

·  1 final concert

·  1 seminar on contemporary repertoire (optional)

·  Invitation: the orchestra will vote and select its favourite candidate to conduct a concert of the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese within Dec. 2018 (at least 90/100 points)

·  Partnership with ICC Nino Rota – Matera 2017: ISA Conducting Masterclass L’Aquila and the International Conducting Competiton “Nino Rota” - Matera are partners under the “PLATFORM ROUTES” PROGRAMME . Therefore, the ICMAQ 2017 will include repertoires of the ICC Nino Rota, to be held in Matera from Oct. 3rd to 9th, 2017. ICMAQ will select up to 10 participants (up to 8 fully active students plus 2 or more semi-active students) to be admitted to the ICC Nino Rota 2017. Reduced application fee (€ 30) for students who have already applied to ICC “Nino Rota” – Selected participants of the ICMAQ will take part to the first round of the ICC Nino Rota on Oct. 5th. Age limit for active and semi-active students: 38. No age limit fot auditors.

Application fee will not be refunded.

Participants selection and registration deadline

A maximum number of 8 fully active students and 15 semi-active students will receive an invitation to join the ICMAQ within Aug. 20th – Selected participants shall confirm their participation and send copy of the participation fee receipt to within Aug. 30th. The participation fee can be re-funded only under serious motives to be submitted to ISA within Sept. 18th.
