Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM), the investment management company within Irish Life Assurance,part of Great-West Lifeco (GWL) Group, manages assets of over €55bn. ILIM provides investment products and solutions to both institutional and retail clients, offering a full range of active and indexed fund management products.

We are currently looking to recruit anexperienced and enthusiastic Quantitative Investment Analyst to work within the Quantitative Strategies Group. This multi-discipline team is responsible for the development of cross asset quantitative investment models, management of quant equity and multi asset portfolios and structuring investment solutions for our clients.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Quant Strategies the role will involve:

  • Developing and enhancing quant investment strategies and models used in managing existing portfolios and/or to develop new funds
  • Developing and maintain systems to support ongoing research, product development and portfolio management within the team
  • Supporting the management of existing asset allocation strategies and active multi factor equity funds
  • Utilising quantitative fund management techniques to develop customised investment solutions for our clients
  • Undertaking new and explorative quantitative studies and analysis to support fund performance and new strategy development
  • Frequent interaction with client and sales teams to support business development opportunities

The Person:

  • A third level degree and/or post graduate qualification in a numerical discipline such as Quantitative Economics/Finance, Econometrics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering
  • Minimum 2-5years relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of mathematical modelling, statistical inference and econometrics
  • Proven knowledge and exposure to various asset classes including Equity, Bonds, FX and Equity Options
  • Proven ability to successfully communicate complex material in a clear and coherent fashion to both internal and external parties
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set, intellectual curiosity and interest in expanding beyond field of expertise
  • Ability tomultitask and effectively co-ordinate priorities, tasks and resources to achieve favourable outcomes on time and budget.
  • Ability to respect deadlines and to set realistic timescales for all the tasks and projects at hand.

This role is a ‘controlled function’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011.
