Celebration of Hope

Dear House of Hope Supporter,

The House of Hope is dedicated to providing the best services possible to those with the fewest resources. We provide quality programming to help those who can least afford it, by offering the opportunity to recover from the disease of addiction.
An estimated 926,000 individuals in Ohio are in need of substance abuse treatment for alcohol and/or drug dependence. This year we experienced the highest rate of opiate overdose deaths ever in the state of Ohio. These numbers speak to the need for access to treatment.

We seek to make this year’s Celebration of Hope our most well-attended event yet and our most successful fundraiser to date. We have invited Sam Quinones, celebrated journalist and author of Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic, to be our keynote speaker. As we face the large number of people in need of treatment, we are committed to making a difference in the community. Please join us in this effort by sponsoring the 2017 Celebration of Hope.

The Celebration of Hope is the single largest fundraising event for the House of Hope. It is an evening of fellowship between alumni, former staff, board members, current staff, and clients. It is an evening of friendship between the House of Hope and those who may be new to hearing our story – sponsors, patrons, and guests. It is also an evening where we can focus on the power of recovery to change lives and move from the devastation of addiction. On our website we share the story of one of our house managers, Jon A., who is just one example of the power of recovery. Jon, an Iraqi Army Veteran, was homeless and a chronic heroin addict with many failed recovery attempts before he completed six months of residential treatment at the House of Hope in July 2015. He has since become a house manager at one of our recovery residences and is a full-time student at Columbus State Community College, working on a Social Work Associate Degree and plan on transferring to the Ohio State University in 2018.

“Thank you in advance for your support!” -Carolyn Ireland, Executive Director
