1.1The Santa Pod Racers Club will organise an FIA European Drag Racing Championship event on 25-28 May2018 in accordance with the Sporting Code of the FIA, the FIA Regulations for Drag Racing, the General Prescriptions for FIA European Drag Racing Championship and these regulations (and any other regulations which may be issued in writing by the organisers).

CHAPTER III - GENERAL CONDITIONS
Article 2 - General
2.1This event will be run in accordance with the International Sporting Code and appendices of the FIA (The Code) and the FIA Drag Racing Regulations, the General Regulations of the Motor Sports Association, these Supplementary Regulations and any subsequent regulations officially promulgated.
2.2This event will count for the FIA European Drag Racing Championship:
-for Top Fuel Drivers.

Location:Santa Pod Raceway is located in northern Bedfordshire extremely close to the county borders with both Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire in England
The raceway is situated near the villages of Hinwick and Podington, which lie approximately two miles due east of the A509 carriageway. Throughout the racing season there are directional signs permanently erected from Junctions 14 of the M1 motorway.
Nearby towns include Northampton (10 miles due west), Wellingborough (5 miles North West), Bedford (12 miles south east) and Milton Keynes (14 miles south west).
The raceway is reached via a number of routes from the surrounding “A” roads which include the A6, the A509, the A45 and the A428. Junctions 14, 15,15A and 16 of the M1 motorway are also within a close proximity to the raceway.
Article 4 - Eligible Vehicles
4.1FIA Pro Modified, FIA Pro Stock, FIA Top Methanol Dragster, FIA Top Methanol Funny Car and FIA Top Fuel vehicles complying with the current FIA Drag Racing Regulations.
4.2Each car must have a valid FIA Technical Passport.
Article 5 - Eligible Competitors
5.1Holders of FIA International Competition Licences valid for drag racing, the event and specifically for the category of vehicle to be driven.
Article 6 - Entry Forms and Entries
6.1Anybody wishing to take part in the event must send the Official Entry Form, duly completed, by the appropriate closing date, to the secretariat at:

6.2Foreign competitors must have the authority of their ASN in accordance with Articles 47 and 70 of the International Sporting Code.
6.3Entry forms, which are amended, incomplete or defaced, are invalid.
6.4A vehicle may only be entered once. No driver may drive more than one vehicle in the same class.
6.5The organisers have the right to refuse an entry without giving any reason (art. 74 of the International Sporting Code).
6.6The maximum number of entries in each class for qualification will be 32, the minimum is 1 in each class. However, the organisers reserves the right to cancel or abandon in liaison with the Stewards of the event a class if they feel appropriate.
6.7By the fact of their entry all competitors will be deemed to have declared that the vehicles, team and personnel under their control will comply with the regulations throughout the event.
Article 7 - Entry Fees
7.1Entry fee is £235in local currency per competitor until 27 April 2018. Late entries may be accepted after this date. If accepted an extra fee of £778in local currency will be charged. In addition an Electricity fee of £75 for providing single phase 240 volt, 13 amps will be charged to all competitors. Competitors wishing to upgrade to 3 phase 380 volt/16amp have to request this on the entry form and will be charged an additional fee of £105. If not requested in advance on the entry form an additional fee will be incurred at the event.
7.2The entry application will only be accepted if accompanied by the total entry fees or by a receipt issued by the competitor's national sporting authority.
No car will be allowed to start unless the entry fees have been paid in full.
7.3Additional fees may be payable by a competitor who refuses to carry the organiser's sponsor's advertising.
7.4Ticket allocation included in the entry fee is 10.
7.5Entry fees may only be refunded:
a)to candidates who are not accepted,
b)in the case of the event not taking place,
c)in the case of the class being cancelled.
Article 8 - Insurance
8.1The Santa Pod Racers Club will pay an insurance premium for each entry to cover competitors for civil liability towards third parties.
Article 9 - Amendments - Interpretation
9.1In accordance with article 66 of the International Sporting Code, no alterations shall be made to these regulations after the opening date for entries, unless unanimous agreement is given by all competitors already entered, or by decision of the Stewards of the Meeting for reasons of “force majeure” or safety.
9.2All additional information will be announced by dated and numbered information bulletins and deemed to be part of these
regulations. Notifications and bulletins will be posted on the Official Notice Board.
9.3The Stewards of the Meeting may implement decisions on any matter not provided for by these regulations.
9.4In the interpretation of these regulations the English text will be considered as authentic.
Article 10 - Administrative Checking
10.1All drivers must report to administrative checking at Race Control prior to Scrutineering. All crew personnel must sign on at Race Control.
10.2The check shall consist of an inspection of the documents, International Licence, ASN's authorisation where necessary, etc.
10.3Unless the Stewards of the meeting have granted a waiver, those competitors and drivers who fail to report to checking shall not be authorised to take part in practice and the race.
Article 11 - Scrutineering
11.1Any car taking part in the event must be presented by the driver or his official representative to scrutineering,which will be held at each individual pit area on 25 May 2018 from 07.00 to 15.00. Any car arriving after the closure of scrutineering may be refused permission to start.
11.2All cars must comply with the current FIA Drag Racing Safety Regulations.
11.3Each car must carry its FIA competition number, displayed once on each side of the car.
11.4Additional scrutineering may be carried out at any time during the event.
11.5The drivers' safety clothing (protective clothing, helmets, gloves etc.) must be presented with the car at scrutineering.
Article 12 - Qualifying & Common Regulations
12.1The qualifying sessions will be held in accordance with the current FIA Drag Racing Regulations.
Eliminations
The FIA progressive ladder system will be used. All qualified cars from number 1 to 8 spot will be in first round eliminations. However, the organisers reserve the right to decide to run larger fields in first round elimination’s if appropriate, without further consultation or notification.
Maximum number of cars in eliminations as follows:
Top Fuel: 8
Top Methanol : 8
Pro Stock: 8
Pro Modified: 16
Alternate lane qualifying is compulsory in all classes.
Pairings as per qualifying schedule to be issued at event. (To be overridden at the Race Directors/Clerk of the Course sole discretion.)
However, and only for the first round of elimination:
- The driver with the quickest qualifying time shall have the right to choose which pairing (first pair, second pair, etc) in which to run.
- The drivers with the next quickest qualifying times, in order, shall have the right to choose which of the remaining pairings in which to run until all pairings have been selected.
12.2The qualifying and elimination positions will be awarded points in accordance with the FIA Drag Racing Regulations.
12.3A minimum cool down time of 90 minutes is guaranteed between rounds, except for emergencies in exceptional circumstances, and on the decision of the Clerk of the Course, when the time might be shortened to 75 minutes.
12.4Where possible the cars will start in pairs. Starting system will use the 3 amber Pro Start. All amber lights are activated (shown) with a 4 tenths of a second delay to the green light start signal.
Article 13 - Penalties
13.1The Stewards of the Meeting may adjudicate on any matter not covered by these regulations and impose penalties in accordance with The Code.
Article 14 – End of final
14.1At the end of each class final the cars shall be driven directly to the scrutineers, then to a specific position, where they shall remain until officially released.
Article 15 - Results
15.1Results will be posted on the Official Notice Board.
Article 16 - Protest - Appeals
All protests and appeals will be lodged in accordance with the chapters 12 and 13 of the International Sporting Code.
Article 17 – Travel, Running Cost Compensation and Awards Presentation
17.1To be eligible for any awards in the FIA European Drag Racing Championships (series or event – regulations article 6.8) an FIA European Drag Racing Championship series registration fee has to be paid by each driver to the Championship administration at the latest 30 days before taking part in any Championship round. This single fee is in the sum of €800 + VAT and covers all rounds of the Championship. This registration fee is in addition to all normal race entry fees. 17.2The Organiser will pay competitors minimum travel and running cost compensation as per the current FIA European Drag Racing Championship Regulations.
17.3There will be a presentation of trophies at an Awards Presentation on 28 May 2018 at the Media Centre, if not postponed due to extraordinary circumstances.
