Business/Unit Summary

Mercer's Investment business is a leading provider of investment consulting and fiduciary management services. We offer customised advice and support at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process. In addition to core consulting, we have developed a number of specialist teams thereby ensuring we offer a full range of services to our clients.

Support Investment Consultant

Due to continued growth of the business we have a number of roles currently available in our Investment Consulting team. The support investment consultant role is based in our Cork office and the successful candidate will help in the provision of investment consulting advice to a broad range of pension scheme clients, both defined benefit and defined contribution. The successful candidate will also take on lead investment consulting responsibilities in due course.

Responsibilities

  • Helping manage a portfolio of clients on a day-to-day basis.
  • Overseeing / assisting in the production of ad-hoc and regular investment performance report.
  • Presenting investment updates at client meetings.
  • Overseeing implementation of changes to investment manager arrangements, investment strategy, etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in pensions / investment consulting.
  • Proven track record of building strong working relationships with senior colleagues.
  • Comfortable dealing with key client contacts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail is critical.
  • Strong project management skills. Proven ability to manage simultaneous projects and to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Proactive and goal orientated.

Qualifications

  • Third level qualification with a strong academic track record.
  • Would suit candidates who are working towardsthe CFA or the Actuarial qualifications.
  • Should hold or be willing to work towards the QFA qualification.
