INVERNESS REPORT DECEMBER 2016

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I have actually managed to get a report of a fashion out for December which I hope to repeat for January, but it all depends on how much time GG has to keep the official logs coming. Alright while it’s quiet and holidays aren’t pressing – fingers crossed!

1st: Nothing of note.

2nd: The ATR SP-SPD brought in for the ‘Black Friday’ rush departed today.

3rd: Easyjet Switzerland commenced a weekly service in its own right for the ski season f/t Geneva. The first in was A320 HB-JZR.

4th Trinidad G-FIFI that has been based here departed today.

5th: There was thick fog here today which brought a stop to most flights.

6th There was little of note today.

7th: After covering for Ben Air’s sick Short 360s RAF-Avia’s SAAB YL-RAG departed today.

8th: A first visit from CRJ.200 9H-YOU only aircraft of note today.

9th: Merlin D-CCCC of Bin Air arrived today to boost capacity on the Stornoway mail flights.

10th the second Easyjet Switzerland Geneva flight brought a first visit from A320 HB-JYE that has visited previously as G-EZTN.

11th to 13th: Nothing to talk about.

14th: A first visit from A320 G-EUUM today.

15th: Just 2 visitors but one of those was Learjet 75 N175LJ, a first visit of type.

16th: There were a few more movements but nothing of interest on a very grey and miserable day.

17th: A mild and pleasant day here but fog in the London area caused delays and disruption here. The Easyjet Switzerland was a first visit from A319 HB-JYI and was running very late tonight. The frame of this had made 13 previous visits as G-EZGL while the only other visitor was PC-12 M-JJTL.

18th: Today there was little of nothing!

19th: At long last there was a new Avanti for us with M-GCAP making a first visit.

20th: Today was busier but nothing to get excited about.

21st: The weather was not very pleasant today and we said goodbye to the Bin Air Merlin IV D-CCCC that has been flying extra mail flights to Stornoway.

22nd: A splendid start to the day with a first visit from Global 5000 while Flybe sent a first visit by one of its ‘new’ Dash Eights, G-PRPH. Two other regular seasonal visitors were Ce 525B F-HBPP and Gulf 550 M-MOMO.

23rd: The strong winds stayed to the western side of Scotland most of the day but an extra Bristol flight was forced to go around when the wind suddenly gusted up.

24th: The 3rd Easyjet Switzerland was another ’first’ although HB-JXB had visited previously as G-EZUV 27.06.12 and 03.08.12.

25th: Airport closed for Christmas.

26th: There was a pair of Netjets visiting today and the Flybe Dash Eight G-PRPH called for its second time.

27th: There was a new (for us) Premier D-IWWW today.

28th: Beech 1900 F-HAPE was another new visitor today.

29th: The Southern England flights were badly delayed due to fog down there throughout the day and there were no visitors of interest.

30th: PA46-310P N264DB was a first visit today.

31st: A320 HB-JXD of Easyjet Switzerland made no visits when it was G-EZUU
