Recently Mechanical Engg. department of this college has been accredited by National Board of Accredition.The institute is set up on 70 acres of green land on Gurdaspur-Pathankot highway , 5 K.M away from Gurdaspur city. The college is having well equipped computational lab with independent Internet connectivity of 4 Mbps pure lease line.

Introduction:
In today’s world 3D drawings/model have become an emerging area inthe area of design. Due to globalization, technology is passing through a very critical phase, giving high competition for final product. Ongoing pre and post-course technical support as part of the training package will be provided. Emphasis will be laid on building strong foundation for 3D Modeling and Finite Element Analysis. This course will not only help designers to learn the 3D software but will also help them to understand the practicalapplications of the tool. Sufficient time will be devoted on building correct modeling concepts so that the designers can handle any kind ofModeling/Analysis problem in an efficient manner.
Course Content:
- Introduction to AutoCAD user Interface and its components
- Co-ordinate systems in AutoCAD
- Setting the drawing aids (drafting settings)
- Main drawing and editing commands
- Quick editing of existing drawing objects
- Checking your drawing (Inquiry commands)
- Dimension and Text
- Productivity tools to modify drawings quickly
- Applying different hatch patterns in the drawings
- Introduction to 3rd axis of AutoCAD
- Creating 3Dsolids, Surfaces, and regions
- Sectioning solids
- Modifying 3D models
- Extruded and Lofted objects
- Importing 2D/3D drawing from AutoCAD and/or other CAD packages
Mechanical Engineering Department is NBA accredited and U.G & P.G courses are being offered in the department. It has state of art facilities for research and development. The department has a well established CAD & Simulation Lab equipped with sufficient number of computers and latest softwares like PRO-E, Inventor, and Auto Cad etc. The faculty for the course shall include our own faculty. Experts from other Academic Institutions & Industry shall be invited to deliver expert lectures.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Students of second year (all branches) shall be eligible to apply for participation.

A Registration fee of Rs.6000/- (six thousand) is to be paid by cash ordemand draft in favour of “Principal, Beantcollege of Engineering & Technology, Gurdaspur”, payable at Gurdaspur. The cash payment can be made on any working day in the mechanical Engg. Dept of the College.
