Introduction:How important is a ______ - a PAUSE?

Have you ever heard of the Pregnant Pause?

Our weeks fly by, don’t they? _____ hours doesn’t seem very long any more. So then, how can we make the _____ of our weeks?

  1. Pause for ______– Hebrews 10:24-25

Exodus 20:8-11 - “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

I want to suggest to you that ______is a PAUSE day for Christ followers! In the Scripture it is called, the ______Day. Take a look at these references:

  • 1 Corinthians 16:1–4
  • Acts 20:7
  • Revelation 1:10

Hebrews 10:24-25 - And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Every week needs a ______PAUSE, only then can we expect something spiritually significant to happen.

  1. Pause for ______– II Timothy 2:15

We need to make time throughout the week – Monday through Saturday to have personal ______. Perhaps it will be in our devotions that we might have a ______-through moment - our something significant.

Get this – The Bible is a ______, and a book are supposed to be ______!

II Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

How to have Personal Devotions

  1. Pause for ______– Colossians 3:18-21

How important is your family? (Take notes)

I think we can reach the conclusion that family is important. We need to PAUSE for our immediate family. If you are too ______to take time every week to spend with your family, you are too ______!

The point that I am making is that something significant is never going to happen in the family unless you ______for those moments.

  1. Pause for ______– Acts 2:40-47

People are _____ for attention.

Are you aware that only two things will last forever:

  • The Early Church– Acts 2:40-47
  • The Apostle Paul– Acts 13

I want to suggest today that ______is found in community. The very thing that so many people are missing is found in what they are refusing to participate in – COMMUNITY.

  1. Pause for ______–Mark 1:15
