After graduating more than 900 young leaders, Designed Education is proud to present the 2017 Summerprogram:EntrepreneurshipLeadershipAccelerator(ELA).Byprovidinguniqueopportunities for students to apply themselves both creatively and strategically as young entrepreneurs, ELA successfullyleveragesindividualstrengthswithprofessionalguidance.

Join us in Boston, U.S.A., as we foster the ultimate leaders to create their own ventures in our 13-day boot camp.

Students will be expected to complete start-up simulations with expert coaching from Harvard professorsandundergraduatestudentsattendingHarvard,MIT,andBabsonCollege.TheELAprogram culminates in a rocket-pitch competition, where teams present their final innovations to a panel of expertsandreceivefeedback.

IVYLEAGUECLASSEShaveadistinctivefocusonthechallengesofentrepreneurshipandleadership, encouraging creative strategic problem solving and collaboration amongst individuals of incredibly differentbackgrounds.

•WORKSHOPSaredesignedtoidentifyindividualstrengths,focusonspecificleadershipstyles,and work on personal branding. Students will have the opportunity to participate in mock college interviews and presentation simulations to learn about body language and presenting ideas to a diverseaudience.

•SITE VISITS encourage learning from outside of the classroom, showcasing how culture and current events influence the modern economy and society. Students will exercise their networking skills as they explore one of the oldest established towns in the United States, visiting local businesses and interacting with charities in Boston.

DESIGNTHINKINGWORKSHOP:Byusingcreativeapproachestoproblemsolvingtheprocessstarts with the people for whom you are solving the problem and ends with new solutions resourcefully tailored to suit theirneeds.

•CLASSES:TaughtbyaHarvardandMITprofessor,ourclassesofferhands-onparticipationwith

limitedtraditionallectures.Throughteachingcollege-levelbusinessconceptsandmodels,ELAprovides thetoolsforstudentstobeabletolaunchtheirownbusinessesand/orideas.Classeswillincludesocial entrepreneurshipsimulationsthatenablestudentstothinkbeyondtheexpectedethicsinbusiness,and proposesolutionsforhighlycomplexsocialproblemsthatareexperiencedonagloballevel.

•VISITS: Students will interact with local start-ups and organizations founded by students from Harvard,MIT,andBabson,includingnon-profitorganizationsintheBostonarea.Theywillalsovisit historical and fun places in the Boston area including a concert played by students of the Berklee CollegeofMusic,whichwilltakeplacebytheharbouratTheInstituteofContemporaryArtMuseum.

•FINALPROJECT:WorkingingroupsandbeingmentoredbystudentsfromHarvard,MIT,andBabson, participantsareexpectedtopresenttheirfinalprojectonthelastdayoftheprogram.

PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP: Students at this time will gain the skills to successfully captivate the audience through persuasive rhetoric as they develop their public speaking style and ultimately pitch their work to a panel of investors. They will practice their speeches using the “Elevator Pitch” method, which will help them deliver concise and effective presentations. Students will be able to record their presentations to share with their network.

STRENGTHSWORKSHOP:Studentswillidentifyandapplyindividualstrengthsontothecareerpaths theychoosetofollow,andunderstandthepowerofmasteringtheirpersonalstrengths.

UNIVERSITY VISITS: Students will tour the renowned campuses of Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Babson College – the #1 School of Entrepreneurship in theU.S.

COLLEGEAPPLICATIONINTERVIEW:TheEntrepreneurshipLeadershipAcceleratorwillprovide strategiccollegeapplicationseminarsthathighlightthestepstakenbythecollegementors

themselves on how they gained acceptance into their top choice. Seminars focus on writing compelling Commons App supplements, and unique ways in making the application stand out from the crowd.

U.S.ENTERTAINMENT:StudentswillvisitandlearnaboutthegreaterBostonareaanditshistorical importancetotheUnitedStates,enjoyauthenticmealsinlocalrestaurants,visitstunninglandmarks, andhavetheopportunitytomaximizeanthrillingandproductivesummerwithstudentsfromallover theworld,sharinginsightsandexchangingideas.

Students will gain tremendous insight from navigating the complexity of modern entrepreneurship as they tackle business problemsrequiringsophisticated,non-linearsolutions.Launching their own projects, each team will be challenged with incorporatingasocialelementontotheirstart-upbusinesses.

Upon completion of this program, we encourage students to implement their knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking to improvetheircommunitiesbackhome,andidentifyproblemsand solutions for improvement in everyday activities. In addition to becoming leaders of the next generation, there is an every growingneedtobeawareofthetoday’sevents.
