Question 1: In your own words, briefly describe the Communication tool, Apple Apps. Briefly describe its purpose as a personal and business tool. (Arianne-Jael Bertin)

Apple Apps can be classified as communication, information, and messaging tools in which users may have direct electronic interaction with the Internet, books, and music forums. Apps that are available through Apple Inc.’s “App store”, for Macintosh software and device users, may be purchased for the use of business, news, games, productivity, and much more.

Question 2: According to your Internet research, name two different types of Apple Apps for business purposes? (Megan Atienza)

Two different types of Apple Apps that are typically generated for business uses are; the Stocks App and the Mail App. These two Apps are used daily by Apple users and can only be accessed if a user has a Macintosh software or device product. The Stocks App allows users to view stock information and updates from across the world. This App may help a business to keep track of the growth of their investments. There are also a number of other Apps from the makers and team members of Apple Inc. such as: Calculate, News, Search Tools, Social Networking, Sports, Travel and Utilities. All of these can be useful for any business.

Question 3: According to your Internet search, name two advantages of using Apple Apps for business purposes? (Isha Bangura)

Apple apps allow business people to schedule their meetings and appointments using their Lattiss Online planner App. We think this would work great for business purposes because it let’s them book appointment with clients while “on the go”. This feature also offers automated nonfictions and reminders that keep them up to date with their work. Another great advantage using the apple apps for business purposes is the Torch project Management app. This allows business people to manage and keep track of their project, invoices, and budget. Its Database also allows them to attach e-mails, expenses and messages.

Question 4: In your own opinion, what are two disadvantages of using Apple Apps for business purposes? (Man Fai Li)

Apps for business should be acceptable. Apple Apps, use apple technology, which will have to disadvantages. These disadvantages are of the following:

a) Hardware not compatible. Apple hardware, obviously have a much smaller market share than other OS like MS windows. So, an apps created by Apple technology, will only applicable with Apple hardware, not MS OS. In this case, using Apple apps for business purposes are; to have a risk that a big percentage of customers cannot accept it.

b) Apple apps, in general speaking, enjoy a high reputation in which professional imaging and editing software, i.e., desktop publishing, advertise designing, studio re-creation, etc. For general business purpose software, Apple does not show any big advantage compare with MS OS. On the other hand, Apple equipment is having a much higher retail value than equipment installed MS OS and Apps. Professional business apps made by third part for Apple OS is much less than for MS OS. I cannot see why I need to invest more capital on such equipment with less usage. The same idea is very common. So, to use Apple apps for business purpose sound not a good idea.

Question 5: Explain how Apple Apps may be used in a healthcare facility. State two disadvantages and disadvantages of using Apple Apps in a healthcare facility? (Elena Globa)

Recently Apple iPad became very useful as a tool for doctors and patients. From the review I have read so far, authorities name 10 ways in which Apple’s iPad has changed healthcare. The potential role of Medical iPad is very obvious. The IPad has been actively used to enhance the patient-doctor relationship such as patient consultations or home nurse visits. iPad is very useful for radiology viewing or checking X-ray images. It can also be used by surgeons to predict the risks of a surgery. Medical iPad is used widely by medical students for education or preparation for procedures.

There are some advantages of using Apple App. First, because of its portability, iPad is compact enough to carry and always ready to start to work whenever you are. Second, some of new models of Apple App have an enlarged screen that will be very helpful for diagnostic decision.

However, there are some disadvantages of using Apple App. For example, the battery life is short, somewhere around 10 hours. It could be enough for one doctor, but if the iPad gets handed off to the next person, there won’t be enough time to re-change a battery. The second disadvantage is patient’s property safety. iPad can be easy stolen. Because it is an easy-to-use tool, all patients’ private information can be retrieved.

Question 6: If you were to create an Apple App for your healthcare facility, what would it be? How would this App benefit your healthcare facility? (Donna Jean Sillo)

We would create a Med Clinic App containingthename of our clinic. The App providesour various locations (if more than one branches); telephone number; websites; complete address and maps to get there; Dr.'s name; clinic hours; quick access to book an appointment; and FAQ. This is a benefit for the healthcare facility to promote our medicalclinic facility and provideaccessibility to ourexisting and future clients. Most importantly, we would also include Apps designed for doctors. This means that the App designed for the doctors will hold information about the legal guidelines that are set out by the colleges. With this being said, doctors will have a quick access to information and guidelines for medical procedures.
