Subject: International Teaching Opportunities for English Language Teachers for Summer 2015 (May, June, July, August)

What: Countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe, requesting English language instructors for foreign military personnel—typically cadets, junior officers, or senior Non-commissioned officers. The instructor will be the instructional leader of a team to include a minimum of one ROTC cadre leader and approximately eight US ROTC cadets—up to 3 teams possible at various locations. The instructor will teach English as a Second Language to military personnel in the host country. The ROTC cadets will serve as teaching assistants. The country and dates are listed below. Preference will be given to those instructors who choose more than one rotation in that country.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree (preferable)
  • Must be qualified to teach languages (English or another language)
  • Recommended ESOL/ESL/EFL certified, but not required
  • Expertise in or connection with the placement country is helpful
  • Applicants with high-intermediate skill level in one of the dominant languages of the host country

Teacher Compensation: Travel, accommodations, and meals will be provided. Instructor pay will be a lump sum payment of $4200US for a three week rotation, $8,500US for a six week rotation, $12,750US for a nine week rotation, and $17,000 for a twelve week rotation at the completion of theirassignment. Instructors are required to attend an Orientation and After Action Review at a site in Georgia to be determined.Both the orientation and the AAR are mandatory. Please note that the University System of Georgia requires that all funds be distributed through direct deposit.

Curriculum: Instructors will use the USACC Discussion Topics for Cadet English Language Training Teams (CELTT) textbook, but will also be expected to supplement the course with his/her own materials.
