International Scouting Collectors Association
Policy on the “Sale” of ISCA Membership Information:
ISCA will make available an electronic version of its membership list with the following considerations:
- The membership list shall be used only for activities that relate directly to the hobby of Scouting memorabilia. At the time of purchase, the person requesting the purchase of the list must disclose to ISCA the purpose and/or use for the list and the use of the list may be only for that specific purpose and/or use.
- The membership list shall only contain adult ISCA members – all youth members will be removed from the list prior to sale. No contact with youth members, without ISCA’s specific approval, will ever be authorized.
- The membership list shall contain only the members’ names and their current addresses, and shall exclude all phone numbers, e-mail addresses, collecting codes, etc.
- The membership list may be purchased only by an ISCA member in good standing.
Note: the list may be purchased for use by another Scouting organization (i.e.: BSA Council or Order of the Arrow Lodge), for a purpose described herein, but this other organization’s name, etc. must be disclosed at the time of the sale and that entity’s use of the list must be authorized by ISCA.
- It is recognized that the list is copyrighted by ISCA and the purchaser must abide by the rules stated in this policy (including the ISCA Ethics policy, as appropriate). Failure to abide by these rules may result it disciplinary action being taken against the ISCA member purchasing the list.
- The purchase as described herein is actually only a license to use the information for a one-time purpose – after the one-time use of the list, the information must be deleted and/or destroyed by the ISCA member purchasing the list and/or the BSA entity using the list. In other words, each mailing of a different event and/or item, etc. shall require an additional purchase, and these rules will apply to future purchases.
- Cost to use the list shall be determined by the EVP Membership with concurrence by the EVP Finance, and approved by the ISCA President. Special formatting, if available, may be offered at an extra charge as determined by the EVP Membership.
Note:The following statement (or similar) will be placed in ISCA Journals and on the ISCA web-site as appropriate: "ISCA, upon request, will make available a listing of its membership for a fee. The membership list is only provided as a service to our members and can be only used in a manner deemed to be in support of the hobby of Scouting memorabilia. ISCA never makes available in any way information about its youth members. Members that desire to be excluded from lists that would be made available can do so by sending a request to the Membership VP to have their information excluded."
