1.JOB PURPOSE
Describe why the job exists
The role comprises two equal parts: to support delivery of an integrated and strategic cross-team approach to IPPF EN’s communications; and to raise visibility of,and coordinate the communications activities of, the Countdown 2030 Europe consortium.
2.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
IPPF EN
Working with the Communications and Campaigns Lead, help develop and implement communications plans that support the strategic priorities and positioning objectives of IPPF EN and IPPF global, andmaximise the value of campaigns and communications to drive a progressive European narrative on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
  1. Strengthen key communications platforms/contentand develop resources to support strategic priorities of IPPF EN Regional Office (ENRO):
  • Maintain IPPF EN website, including development/posting of new content;
  • Take the lead in running IPPF EN social media channels, including planning and creating quality content;
  • Create, or coordinate creation of, digital resources that communicate SRHR needs & our impact;
  • DevelopcoreIPPF EN communications products;
  • Provide support to ENRO media engagement on ad hoc basis.
  1. Provide communications support to Member Association and ENRO activities around key moments/processes, including ENRO’s participation in IPPF global or IPPF EN campaigns.
  1. Help embed aculture of collaboration & continuous learning through data analytics and coordination of cross-team participation in external communications.Contribute to nurturing new and existing partnerships.
Countdown 2030 Europe
As a key member of the Countdown 2030 Europe secretariat, maximise the impact of the consortium byraising its visibility via its communications channels and content, and coordinating collective communications efforts:
  1. Raise visibility of the work of the consortium:
  • Maintain website and Twitter feed;
  • Draft bi-monthly newsletter;
  • Work with the coordinator to promote key resources, including overview of existing materials and short guidance on dissemination;
  • On-going communications support to partners and coordinator as required;
  • Provide communications support to priority activities around agreed key moments.
  1. Coordinate communication efforts:
  • Lead implementation of Countdown’s communication strategy (in conjunction with the communications task force), including bimonthly conference calls;
  • Give communication support to the development of Countdown campaign material and in the running of events;
  • Monitoring and evaluation of targets contained in communication strategy including the sharing of the data with the coordinator on a quarterly basis;
  • Participate in project planning meetings, including presentation of relevant communications elements;
  • Support coordination of journalist study tours and other communication events.

3.QUALIFICATIONSAND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • A post-graduate qualification (or equivalent through experience) in journalism, communications, English or other relevant field;
  • At least 2-5 years working experience in a relevant field;
  • Track record in delivering high quality, strategic communications, online and offline;
  • Excellent writing and editing skills;
  • Strongorganizational and planning skills;
  • Experience developing or working in partnerships that widen audience reach and impact;
  • Experience working in a network or multi-stakeholder organisation.

5. SKILLS and PERSONAL COMPETENCES
  • English mother tongue or equivalent. Good working knowledge of French, other European languages desirable;
  • Advanced interpersonal and verbal communication skills, in particular to work within a multi-cultural team and network;
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges;
  • Creative, open-minded and able to take initiative;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Project and event management skills;
  • Ability to speak articulately in meetings and conferences;
  • Video editing skills and experience working with Adobe Creative Suite an asset;
  • Understanding of EU political/policy processes and people a plus;
  • Training/facilitation skills a plus;
  • Commitment to gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights, non-discrimination and diversity, and young people and youth participation;
  • Willing and able to travel within the region.
