Enclosed is the application for the 2014 International Flight Services Association Foundation’s Oakfield Farms Solutions Scholarship Award. This scholarship provides the opportunity for relatives of a current IFSA member. Individuals are selected to receive the award based on scholastic merit and dedication to pursuing a career in onboard services operations.
Award Amount:
The Oakfield Farms Solutions Scholarship is a $5,000 USD cash award that covers tuition, books, living expenses and associated costs. The award will be administered through the school/university at which the candidate is enrolled. Once tuition, room and board, and associated costs are paid, the student will receive the residual monies at the beginning of each semester/term to offset associated costs.
Application Availability:
Candidates for the award must complete an application, which is available via the IFSA Web site at www.ifsanet.com, and by mail through IFSA Headquarters. Applications will be available beginning February 2014. All applications must be completed and returned to the IFSA Headquarters no later than June 20, 2014. Applications received after June 20, 2014 will not be considered. The recipient of the award will be notified in August 2014.
Award Considerations:
In choosing qualified candidates, the IFSA Foundation Board will consider the following criteria:
§ Be a student in “good” academic standing.
§ Currently a full time student or plan to enroll as a fulltime student
§ Provide an essay as outlined on page three of this application
§ Be able to provide official transcripts for all high school and post-secondary studies.
§ Exhibit high leadership potential.
§ Be a relative of a current IFSA member company in good standing.

Recommendations:
Please provide three letters of recommendation, preferably from your high school counselor, college professor, advisor or employer who is able to address your potential in your field of study. Recommendations must be mailed or faxed to IFSA Headquarters and appear on printed letterhead, including the sender’s name, title, address and phone number to be considered. Recommendations submitted with this application will forfeit the applicant’s right for consideration of the award.
