‘’History and Development of UTA (Universities of Third Age) throughout the world’’

Since the foundation of the first University of the Third age in 1973 in Toulouse, the concept has rapidly spread across France, Europe and in the différent continents.

The lecturers will to set out, the chronology of the foundation of UTA as far as the main regions are concerned and to explain their own peculiar character according to the local cultures and the excpectations of the population.

.This conference matches with the 40thanniversary of the IUTL U3A Reims Champagne with

  • Serenade by the University choir
  • Gala dinner in the cellars of Champagne de Castelnau.

Saturday 14th: AIUTA Study Tour

Reims and the Champagne, vineyards, UNESCO listed sites

INFORMATIONS From Reims University of Third Age

The nearest airport is Roissy-Charles de Gaulle. It is connected to Reims either by some direct trains or by a connecting flight in Paris. From the airport the RER train leads to gare du Nord station. The latter is close to gare de l’Est station ( 10 minutes on foot or a metro station, line 4, going to Montrouge – Porte d’Orléans).

The Champagne Ardenne TGV is also connected to Lille, Rennes, Nantes, Bordeaux, etc.

Reims city is at the crossroads of A4 (Paris-Strasbourg) and A26 (Calais-Dijon) highways extending through Lyon towards the southern road network of France.
