International Concrete Repair Institute Scholarship Program

The Program

The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) has established a scholarship program to assist qualified applicants who plan to pursue post-secondary education in undergraduate college, university and vocational programs, directly related to a curriculum of study in concrete, concrete repair, architectural and engineering studies (structural and civil).

Eligibility

Applicants to the ICRI Scholarship Program must be:

•  Students who have completed one year of undergraduate study and who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study in concrete, concrete repair, engineering, (civil or structural) architecture or construction management at an accredited two-or-four year college, university, or vocational-technical school.

Scholarship Awards

Up to $5,000.00 will be awarded each year, at the discretion of ICRI, depending upon the number of qualified applicants. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply for the program each year they meet the eligibility requirements. If an applicant is awarded over $1,000, it will be split between two consecutive semesters with the requirement that they submit a transcript after the first semester in order to get the second half of the money. In conjunction with the scholarship award, recipients will also be offered a free one-year student membership in ICRI.

Application

Interested students must complete the attached application and mail it along with a current official transcript of grades to ICRI postmarked no later than Friday March 10, 2017. Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, it is important to answer all questions as completely as possible. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by ICRI.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals, and an applicant appraisal. Selection of recipients is made by ICRI. Applicants will be notified by Friday, April 14, 2017 whether or not they have been selected to receive an award.

Payment of Scholarships

ICRI will contact recipients to set up payment of scholarship awards.

Obligations

Recipients have no obligation to ICRI. They are, however, required to supply ICRI with current year transcripts and to notify ICRI of any changes of address, school enrollment or other relevant information. At the discretion of ICRI, recipients may have the opportunity to attend an ICRI convention following award of the scholarship, with certain expenses paid by ICRI. A short presentation to the Board or general membership may be required (if travel support is provided). Except as described in this brochure, no obligation is assumed by ICRI.
