CLASS TITLE:PERSONNEL TECHNICIAN II - SES

This is professional work performing a variety of assignments in a program of personnel administration.

  • Assists job applicants and determines applicants' qualifications and eligibility. May refer applicants for testing and conduct unassembled examinations.
  • Informs supervisors and employees of personnel rules and policies, promotion and transfer possibilities, rights, obligations and benefits.
  • Makes interpretations of personnel policies, regulations and standards.
  • Develops and administers detailed procedures for placing personnel policies into effect.
  • Explains state and other group insurance programs to employees and processes paperwork in connection with the programs.
  • Processes paperwork in connection with workers' compensation and retirement programs.
  • Processes credit union paperwork and provides liaison with credit union offices.
  • Represents the agency in carrying out rules and regulations, service ratings, promotions, disciplinary actions, grievance proceedings, discharges and related personnel transactions.
  • Conducts position audits, reviews job assignments and allocates positions.
  • Collects data for compensation and benefits studies.
  • Prepares proposed class specifications.
  • Calculates pay data such as shift differentials.
  • Monitors computerized personnel reports and records.
  • Prepares organizational charts.
  • Coordinates and directs the work of other employees.
  • Performs related work as required.
