Part 1: Identifying a Product and Country

Part 2: Identify and describe your product in detail. Give three reasons why you feel there is demand for this product in the country you selected. The details should be well-written to make at least one paragraph (4-6 sentences minimum).

Example: The product I selected is fish and seafood. The types of fish and seafood that I will sell to Austrian markets are more expensive types of fish and seafood such as shrimp, lobster, yellow fin tuna, scallops and swordfish. My research indicated that fish and seafood are growing in demand in Austria for the following reasons: 1) consumers are more health conscience and fish is considered a healthier meat alternative, 2) consumers in Austria have increasingly more money to spend and 3) Austrian restaurants have been offering more seafood on their menus resulting in Austrians wanting to cook fish/seafood at home.

Part 3: Give your company a name and explain why you chose it in 1-2 sentences (minimum).

Example: The name I have chosen for my company is Pisces. I selected this name because it means fish.

Part 4: Country Product Logo/Trademark

Create a Logo for your company. If you are not artistic, you may use clip art, Internet, or If you have graphic design skills, you may use the computers to design your logo. If not, use may use markers, colored pencils, colored paper, etc. to create and design below. If not drawing below by hand or on the computer, print out what you created ad design on another sheet of paper.

Part 5: Business Customs

Directions: Using the Internet, research information about doing business in your chosen country. Find at least three business practices/customs that a business person should know about when doing business in your country. Briefly describe each custom (importing, exporting, converting your country’s currency, etc.)

Part 6: Trade Barriers

Directions:

Prepare a list of at least two trade barriers that prevent you from trading/exporting to another country serving as that country’s import. Give one country you can export to AND two trade barriers. Once you find out what some of the trading partner countries are, you may get information forma classmate that has that same country.
