POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: / High School Coordinator
PRIMARY LOCATION: / VARIES (Multi-Campus)
DESCRIPTION: / Under general supervision, assists state, secondary and postsecondary instructional leadership in the planning and development of career programs of study including articulation, dual, joint, Move On When Ready (MOWR) and Accel enrollment opportunities that leads to either an industry recognized credential, postsecondary certificate of credit, diploma, or associates degree. This position will serve DeKalb County.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: / 1.  Serves as primary point of contact for and collaborates with high school administrators, counselors and staff to promote a seamless guidance system between secondary and post-secondary institutions in a professional manner.
2.  Provides information to students on program offerings and facilitates the admissions process, including arranging for placement testing, application collection, transfer of transcripts, and financial aid completion.
3.  Coordinates with high schools, the registration and withdrawal of students in the program in an organized and timely manner.
4.  Responsible for the initial and continuing education of public and private middle and high school administrators, counselors, and teachers relative to dual, joint, MOWR, and Accel enrollment programs as well as articulation.
5.  Evaluates dual, joint, MOWR, and Accel applicants' files to ensure that specific admission criteria have been met.
6.  Coordinates with financial aid staff regarding tuition, fees, and HOPE grants/scholarships in a professional and timely manner.
7.  Initiates the entry of application information into the student information system.
8.  Verifies each student is in the appropriate program of study based on schedule of classes and that each student's classes are within the program of study for financial aid purposes.
9.  Provides high school personnel with semester schedules for students participating in off-campus programs.
10.  Communicates and educates secondary staff about the dual enrollment and articulation matrices.
11.  Facilitates the awarding of individual student articulated credit at the technical college level.
12.  Creates a schedule for ASSET/COMPASS prep sessions, testing, and retesting in all high schools in the assigned area.
13.  Maintains accurate records of ASSET/COMPASS scores for dual, joint, MOWR, and Accel enrollment students and articulated credit awards. Enters data within specified time frames.
14.  Coordinates book orders with campus bookstore in a timely manner.
15.  Ensures student accounts remain accurate.
16.  Ensures correct number of books are delivered to students in off-campus programs in a timely manner.
17.  Coordinates the collection of money for books and ensures correct number of books not purchased are returned.
18.  Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: / Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university *and* two (2) years of experience in a post-secondary institution, preferably in admissions or registrar's office.

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: / Experience in BANNER student information system. Admissions counseling and recruitment experience at a college or technical college. Instructional experience in a high school setting. Work experience in post-secondary education using a student information system or K-12 school system.
Knowledge of and experience with the application of BANNER or other administrative systems, knowledge of regional databases; knowledge of state regulations regarding admissions, international students and residency.

salary/benefits: / The salary range is $32,000 - $35,000 determined by education, experience, and other qualifications. This is a full-time position with paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave and the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
