Description:

/ As a Public Health Nurse in the Sexual Health program you will demonstrate clinical and counseling skills to the adolescent population, and provide education to individuals and groups. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment you will have excellent knowledge of sexual health issues including birth control methods, sexually transmitted infections, and HIV/AIDS. You will work with community partners to ensure the provision of related health promotion activities. As a Public Health Nurse in the Sexual Health program you will demonstrate clinical and counselling skills to the adolescentpriority populations, and provide education to individuals and groups. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment you will have excellent knowledge of sexual health issues including birth control methods, blood-borne infections, and sexually transmitted infections, andincluding HIV/AIDS. You will work with community partners to ensure the provision of related health promotion activities. Applicants will be expected to be sex positive, pro-choice, and supportive of harm reduction.[RP1]

Qualifications:

/
  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses in Ontario.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an approved University with identifiable Community Health Nursing content.
  • Current CPR Certificate;
Proficiency in computer and word processing skillssVenipuncture skills;
  • Current knowledge of contraceptive methods, sexually transmitted infection prevention and treatment; Good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Good communication skills with all ages;
  • Comfortable with the topics of sexuality, birth control, blood borne infections, and sexually transmitted infections;Required to provide the use of an automobile as per signed employment agreement
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment;May be required to work irregular hours
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work irregular/flexible hours.May be expected to periodically travel in the district

/ $53,397.26 - $74,298.2829.34 - $40.82 per / hour$53,931.74 - $75,041.26
