The Dallas office of SmithGroupJJR is looking for anInterior Designer to join our team.

We are currently seeking a highly creative ambitious and experienced Interior Designer who is interested in helping set an aesthetic standard for interior architecture. This includes pursuing creative design solutions and developing meaningful, quality environments based on best practices, the latest research, and evidence-based design. This person will be an assertive member of the team working across the office to support our Healthcare, Lab, Higher-Ed, and Workplace projects.

Working with us, you will:

  • Provide a full range of interior design services, including generating overall interior design concepts formulating design presentation strategies and making presentations.
  • Compile construction documents package for projects and deliver the design through documentation and detailing.
  • Prepare, develop, and edit specifications.
  • Select FF&E materials.
  • Coordinate with consultants or subcontractors.
  • Work to project budget and schedules related to interior design component

An ideal candidate:

  • Has the ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents for permitting and bidding on projects.
  • Is able to demonstrate the attributes of a proven intermediate professional with a history of developing Interior projects from initial programming and space planning through construction administration and completion.
  • Has current knowledge of the furnishings industry with the ability to select and budget.
  • Is able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Has strong technical skills including experience with SketchUp and Revit.
  • 7+ years experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design.
  • Architectural or Interior Design registration preferred. LEED AP preferred.
  • Experience with commercial, healthcare, or higher education projects preferred.
