Although capacity building can have many interpretations, for our purposes, we are defining it as something that “improves organizational capability and competence.” It is an activity or project with a goal of “Strengthening the organizational platform upon which mission and program rest.” These activities can include strengthening one or more of the following: administrative systems, management, financial resources and/or governance. Examples of possible capacity building grants include but are not limited to hiring a consultant to work with board and staff members to create a strategic or fund raising plan and training activities for board or staff members.
For grant requests exceeding $10,000, please submit the standard Foundation Grant Proposal.
