Sub:Inter-Divisional Badminton Tournament 2014 - 2015

1. Date & Venue

The Inter-Divisional Team Championship / Open Singles /Doubles for Men & Open Singles /Doubles for Women will be held on 17th and 18th November 2014. Venue for the tournament will be North India Association Badminton courts, Near Sion Hospital.

1. Timings: Tournament will commence at 0900 hrs on 17th November 2014. All participants are requested to be present 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

3.Division Group & Entries Procedure

The entries in the prescribed forms (Annexure I) duly signed by Divn./ Dept. Head and Sports Contactman should be submitted to Hon. Secretary Mr. Ketan S. Bedekar – email id: Cell No. 9223503633 before 10th November 2014. The organizing committee will take out draws at the venue on 17th November 2014.

Entries for the tournament will be accepted from the following divisions/divisional groups.

1. Trombay (Red)

2. Trombay (Blue)

3. Bhira

4. Bhivpuri

5. Khopoli including H/W Lonavla

6. SED Mumbai / SED Bengaluru / NELCO

7. Transmission Divn. Kalyan / Ambernath / Panvel / Trombay / Ambernath Training

8. HO team includes Bombay House, All offices located at Corporate Centre Carnac, CENTEC

9. PSCC / QAIT/ ETD / Wind Group

10. Parel R/S / Carnac R/S / Mahalaxmi R/S / CTTL

11. Dharavi R/s / Constr. Dept. / Civil Dept. / Chembur R/S / Vikhroli / Mankhurd / Estate Dept / Western Projects

1. Lodging

Lodging arrangements will be made at Tata Power Housing Colony, Trombay for 3 Hydro Divisions & outstation teams. Outstation teams are requested to confirm their entries to the undersigned well in advance & advice their date & time of arrival to make necessary arrangements.

1. Lunch & Refreshments

The arrangements for lunch & refreshments during the matches will be made available by the Organizing Committee.

1. Transport

All employee participants representing division/division group will be reimbursed by their respective divisions as follows, if Company’s transport is not provided or reimbursement made in any other form.

All Bombay Divisions : Rs200/ per day

Transmission Division : Rs250/ per trip (To & Fro)

Bhivpuri & Khopoli : Rs 375/- per trip (To & Fro)

Bhira: Rs 450/per trip (To & Fro)

1. Release

All the Divisional heads are requested to cooperate regarding the release of the participants to enable them to participate in the tournament and make it a grand success. Participants who are out of the competitions on first or second day/s shall report for duty on the following day.

1. Rules

The tournament will be conducted as per the rules given below:

GENERAL RULES OF THE TOURNAMENT

INTER-DIVISIONAL TOURNAMENT

a) This tournament is open to only those players who are selected from their Division group to participate. Only permanent employees, trainees and the employees on Project Rolls of Tata Power are allowed to participate in this tournament. Only one direct dependant below age of 25 years is allowed to represent in team championship only.

b)The International Rules will be observed.

c) The tournament will be on the Knock -out basis. The Divisional group for the tournament is given in the circular.

d) A team will consist of maximum 5 players. The team championship will consist of 2 singles and one doubles on the basis of best of three matches. A player is permitted to play either singles or doubles only.

9. All are requested to bring their ID cards for proper identification and the participants who complete their matches should report back to work on the next day.

10. Men OPEN SINGLES / DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP:-

The above tournament will be held on 17th &18th November 2014 simultaneously with Inter-Divisional Tournament. Maximum two entries from the names submitted from each Division will be accepted. The draws for the championship will be taken on 17th November 2014.

11. Women OPEN SINGLES / DOUBLES:-

The above tournament will be held on 18th November 2014. The draws for the open singles /doubles will be taken on 18th November 2014 at venue. All participants are requested to be present sharp 09:00 AM at venue.

12. Organizing Committee

Organizing Committee comprising of the following members will be responsible to conduct this tournament. This committee is empowered to use its discretion on any point covered/not covered by the circular. Committee’s decision shall be final and binding.
