The Intelligence Network department
A dedicated small team, providing on-line intelligence to clients and members of the Intelligence Network on adverse payments, pre-insolvency and fraud. This is a value add service which is a premium product exclusive to Graydon.
What does the position entail?
The role of Intelligence Unit Analyst is within the Graydon Intelligence Network department and you will report into the Head of Intelligence, Steel, Petroleum and Timber.
You will also be working closely with Graydon’s Vertical Markets Sales Team, our UK Production Staff and Customer Services, our Finance and IT Department, the Specialist Products Team. Externally you will be working with Trade Associations, Publishers of Industry Journals, companies within the Industry Sectors and clients whose business relates to the Industry Sectors.

What is the purpose of the role?
To ensure that a value added credit information service is provided which helps subscribers make better credit decisions by acting as a focal point, gathering and disseminating data to help credit professionals minimise risk. General direction is given from the Manager, whilst recommendations on new sources of information and building the industry database will be required from the jobholder.
What are the key responsibilities?
· Assist in the development and maintenance of industry sector related databases, in conjunction with adding valuable information to the AS400 by compiling intelligence data received by the department or gathered elsewhere.
· Communicate on an ongoing basis (preferably pro-actively) with customers in order to accept value added data or disseminate information.
· Communicate with subjects of enquiry to obtain detailed information as to history / structure and fresh data not obtainable elsewhere.
· Investigate and gather information through various sources including press information, specialist magazines and journals, industry reference books the w.w.w. and any other sources of material that may be available.
· Provide recommendations on new sources of industry specific information.
· Support the sales team in prospecting for new clients and retaining existing members
· Manage adverse payment list data received from and disseminated to our client base
· Assist, plan and when required attend industry Credit Forum meetings
· Incorporate and maintain up to date records of trade references on the AS400, supplied by members.
· Send daily intelligence messages
· Liaise effectively with our alliance partners
· Communicate effectively and build business relations with subscribers to the service
· In addition, provide monthly assistance (2/3 days) to the Customer Services team.
What qualifications and experience is desirable?
· Educated to degree level or equivalent
· Background in Finance (not essential)
· 3 years’ experience in a busy office environment would be beneficial
· Experience in utilizing the Internet for investigation purposes
What skills are required?
· Good knowledge & experience required in working with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
· Good communication skills, both written and oral
· Able to communicate and build relationships with different stakeholders
· A “Putting the customer first attitude”
· Preferably experience and knowledge of AS400 database of Graydon
· Results focused with a relentless drive for taking things to the next level and beyond
· Self-motivated, strong team player, action and results oriented
· Ability to successfully work to deadlines
