Training dates: December 3-22 2017

Instructors: Jessica Fagan, Char Pias

Thank you for your interest in the Esalen Massage 100 Hour Certification Program. THIS PROGRAM IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO THOSE CERTIFIED IN MASSAGE BY AN ACCREDITED MASSAGE SCHOOL.

Esalen Massage is a holistic modality that uses touch as a means of integrating body, mind, and spirit. This 100 hour course is for those who are certified (at least 150 hours) in another massage modality and want to learn Esalen Massage. Our study also includes mindfulness practices, relavent anatomy and physiology, professional ethics, business practices, and communication skills.

We would like you to be prepared for the training, so as you consider your decision to apply, please carefully read the following information.

This intensive program is challenging, physically, mentally, and emotionally. The course includes weekly group process sessions to facilitate communication within the group and allows participants to more deeply explore their experience while at Esalen. The process sessions are not meant as a substitute for professional counseling. Because our focus is on learning massage, we do not have the capacity to support those who may be in the initial stages of drug or alcohol recovery. Attendance is kept daily as required by the State of California. Please come prepared to participate fully.

For any other questions you may have about the actual licensing and other massage industry rquestions please contact Brita Ostrom at or call her directly at 831-667-3040. For up-to-date requirements in California, visit the CAMTC website.

Rates for Standard accommodations are $5110 sharing with one or two people of the same gender. There are a very limited number of scholarships, available by application, in the form of the bunk bed accommodations shared with three or five other people of the same gender at $3690. Additional scholarship options may be available for students in fields promoting socio-economic diversity and social impact.

One hundred hours of training is offered. In order to earn the Certificate of Completion, students are required to complete a practical assessment and document 30 massage at their home site within 6 months following the Program. There is a $115 processing fee.

Thanks for your interest, and best wishes!
