COURSE DESCRIPTION
In U.S. History this year we will be learning about significant events, individuals, places that have shaped America from the first European settlements through Reconstruction, ending in 1877. Included in the course is the study of the political, economic, geographical and social aspects of U.S. history.

TESTS 20% PROJECTS 20%
CLASSWORK 45% SIX WEEKS TEST 15%
LATE WORK
Late work is due the following class period. If any work is more than one day late, the student will be assigned a lunch detention to complete the work. Late work will result in a highest grade of 70%. No late work will be accepted if more than three days late.
If a student is absent, work is due one day after they return to school to avoid a late penalty. It is the student’s responsibility to get all missing work from when they are absent. Absent make up work is due within three school days.
TARDIES
Students are expected to be in the classroom and in their seats with necessary supplies when the bell rings. A lunch detention will be issued for excessive tardiness. If the problem persists, the student will be kept after school to make up the time missed in class.
TUTORING
After school on Thursdays from 3:45 – 4:45 and bus transportation is provided. Tutoring is also available during specific lunches throughout the school year upon request.
RETESTING
One retest will be allowed for major tests (excluding ACP) that student has failed within 5 days of receiving the grade. The higher of the two scores will be recorded.
SUPPLIES
All students are expected to have the following supplies:
· A 2-inch binder
· 6 dividers
· 1 high-lighter & 1 dry erase marker
· Pencil or pen
All students are expected to contribute to the following group supplies:
· 1 box Kleenex
· 1 bottle hand sanitizer
· 1 pack index cards
· 1 pack (12) pencils
· 1 ream loose leaf paper
